Rolling over to try and get warmer as I hugged the blankets. Slowly blinking my eyes as the morning sun blinded me. Checking my alarm clock as it only read 7:49. It felt as if I didn't sleep at all last night. Internally grumbling as I stepped out of bed, the floor sending a chill up my spine as I violently shivered. Quickly grabbing my cardigan as I snuggled in it.

Walking down the stairs as I felt my nose being assaulted by the lovely scent of breakfast being made. Looking to see my Dad humming in the kitchen, completely happy. It was a drastic change from last night's mystery phone call.

"Good morning!" I saw him pass me  over a plate before flashing me another one of his smiles. Having a feeling nagging at the back of my mind before grabbing the plate filled with scrambled eggs, toast and bacon. Lightly munching on the toast as I went to the cabinet and pulled out the kettle and tea. Unfortunately we didn't restock up on mint so I was working with green tea this morning.

Preparing my tea before I saw my dad stiffen briefly. Hearing the doorbell ring before I looked back and glared at the harsh sound. What person in their right mind would ring a doorbell at 8 am? Seeing my dad walk over to the door in a rather huff before he opened it quickly.

"Yes?" Peeking my head from the kitchen as I saw the figure of a man, looking to be the same age as me. He had his brown hair falling naturally on his head as his brown eyes caught onto mine. Making my cheeks flush before going back to gathering my tea.

"I'm here as a welcome to the neighbourhood." I heard my dad scoff.

"Already got one." I could hear the door start to creak shut.

"Actually, I was sent as someone that would be showing your daughter around." I felt my hand stop mid cream. Feeling the sudden stare on me as I turned my head, facing them. My father held a stoic expression before firmly slamming the door on his face.

"No." Locking it behind him as he walked back to the kitchen. Grabbing his plate and quietly eating. Hearing him grumble a couple time before noticing me giving him a confused expression. Maybe I wanted to go out and see the town. "He's bad news."

Going back to my tea as I finished my food. Debating on what to do today. With school hitting soon I needed to get the supplies. Placing  my dirty dishes in the dishwasher as I went to the back yard. Admiring how clean and crisp the pool looked, I debated on taking a dip and enjoying the weather. It was nice and warm with a little breeze as the trees swayed lightly.

"Nova? I'm getting called out again, I'll be a bit okay?" Nodding to him as he flashed his smile and was gone almost immediately. For as long as I could remember when someone needed him, he always went to them. Quickly. When I was younger I asked him why he did that and he simply said it was out of respect. I loved that about him.

Eventually deciding to go for a swim. Quickly walking upstairs and tossing on my bathing suit, my teal bikini, before grabbing a towel to dry with and a book to read later on. Seeing the sun higher up and the air becoming much warmer. Dipping my feet in the water as the cool water sent chills up my spine. Diving head first into the water as the cold water engulfed me. Sending ice cold chills around me. Surfacing and gasping at how much colder it was than I thought before deciding to do laps to warm up.

Several laps later, I just floated in the water. Enjoying how free I felt. Feeling my lungs for once not having trouble to breath. Just resting in the water, pretending things were like they were before. The cancer destroyed my lungs, I know i'll never get to compete again but I still missed the water more than anything. How weightless you were. How you felt like you could do anything. How-

"Hello?" Jerking from being startled as I gasped and coughed out the water I Had accidentally intaked. So much for being agile and majestic in the water. Looking over to see the guy who had come to the door. Looking alarmed at how he just walked around the house to creep on me, I slowly got out of the pool and wrapped a towel around myself. Feeling uneasy under his gaze.

"What are you doing?" My voice sounded clearer than it normally did thanks to the water.

"I saw that your dad left and thought maybe you wanted to get that tour?" I saw him giving me a smirk before I thought about it. He saw my unsureness before continuing, "You don't have to talk much, honestly would be a nice break from all of the chatty girls." Biting my lip as I thought about it. If my dad found out, he would kill me.

Looking over into his eyes before seeing him smile. Something inside me was pushing me to go, what? I don't know. All I knew is that I wanted to go. Badly. Nodding my head as I tried not to think about what my dad would have thought about me.

"Awesome, we can head out as soon as you get dressed." He held out his hand for me to shake it. "My names Leo." Grabbing onto his hand as I felt it tingle immediately. Pulling it away before just walking inside the house. What was that? I didn't think we were stepping on something that could have electrocuted us?
