Tightening my grip on the headphones as I had been listening to music and slowly unpacking my belongings. Standing up briefly and cracking my back, letting out a sigh of pleasure. Looking at how little progress I had accomplished as my head went to the book that was laying down on my bed. The time culprit.

Walking over to the open window as I looked out in the yard. We had moved into a slightly bigger house. The two story house with a small pool in the back yard. Sure it was a large fixer upper but that was how we got it so cheap. I didn't mind dealing with broken windows, floors needing to be redid and yard trashed if it meant that it would be a fresh start.

Leaning against the window as I watched the crisp air flow past the small enclosed area next to us. Feeling the stress from my old town slowly vanishing. Pulling my headphones off as the music echoed away. Setting them on the end table before chill run up my spine. Jerking my head back outside as I heard a bush suddenly ruffle. Feeling myself unconsciously hold my breath as I scanned the area. Seeing nothing as I closed the window quickly.

"Nova?" Turning to see my dad giving me a worried expression before I gave him a quick smile. "Okay, well I need to head out for a bit. Just an hour tops?" Nodding that it was okay as he disappeared behind the wall. Hearing him go down the stairs and grabbing his keys. Heading down stairs myself before walking over to the dryer and grabbing a towel. Now was the perfect time to shower. Without my Dad annoying me on how much steam would be left over. Saying this much heat would be bad for my throat and bla bla bla...

Walking upstairs to the bathroom before hearing him say one last goodbye before the door was shut. Seeing the house slightly rattle before heading into my room grabbing a t-shirt and pj shorts. Grabbing my phone to check to see if Willa messaged me back. Seeing a message but being surprised to see Hayden's name popping up. Sure he's my best friend but usually I have to start the conversation.

"How's the new place going?" -Hayden. Thinking for a moment before texting back a hastily reply.

"It's going good, a real fixer upper but it could be fun." I placed my phone down as I headed towards the bathroom. Walking past the boxes in the hallway. The movers had lazily placed them down and ended up breaking a lot of picture frames in the process. My dad was pissed when he found out. Luckily they were long gone or they would have been murdered in their spot.

Heading in the washroom and grabbing the brush. Running it through my hair. The Brown locks mimicked my moms and my blue eyes had turned into a hybrid of both of my parents but it was more dull and icy like my fathers. After I finished my eyes rested on my throat. The stitches faded as a now scar rested on it.The newest surgery had completely fixed it, removing every part of it and leaving me healthy. I just had a couple months before I could speak like I did years ago.

Turning the water on and feeling the warm water hit my hand as I smiled. Turning the shower function on as I got undressed my eyes barely noticing the scar on my side. Nearly disappeared now, seeing that it was over 10 years now. Hoping in the shower as I felt the warm water hit my body. Making me feel relaxed instantly. I know this won't be the worst place, it can honestly only get better than the last place.
