The Day That It All Began

It was the year 1981 when the invasion began. My sister and I were hiding in cold and moist basement which smelled like an animal died in it the basement with our parents, above us was the house that we had spent so many years in demolished by the creatures that were invading Earth.

That day had started out as a normal one, I walked to school and met up with my best friends Will and Kate at lunch, where we talked about literally anything, then I went to P.E. and walked home with Kate and Will, and that's when things got weird, first there were no kids playing outside, there was no Mrs. Diomend walking her small black lab, and there were no 16 year olds hanging out in the dusty alley way between The Daycare and Rizzo's pizza parlor.

When we got home my mom said with a worried but soothing voice to come over to the living room and make sure all the doors were locked, so I did then I ate my P.B & J sandwich my mom made me for lunch, which I never ate for lunch because I was never hungry, then I sat and watched T.V.

I ended up sleeping until 7:00 PM, so like 3 hrs, then I awoke to a loud boom and blood curdling screams.

Waking up in that half asleep half awake phase, I ran to the window to see what it was, and when I opened the window I saw a giant slimy creature emerging from a wall of light green smoke. The whole row of houses in front of ours demolished and everyone in them outside bleeding out on the black, and now partly destroyed, road.
