the twins, Castor and Pollux
are said that they fought better
when they were near each other -
like two swift swords stabbed in
the heart, like two powers
confined into o n ethey helped Argonauts, a sailor,
when a storm came threatening
their ship, warning them of a
collapse they won't overcome;
a tragedy to face torment -Zeus placed them, you see, as
the brightest stars in the night sky,
[ thus: stars named after people ]
the heads of two warriors who died
to form a constellation that I now
love to call mine -a constellation bringing life to
Gemini, named twin in latin;
bringing lavenders and amethyst
and the 'lily of the valley' into a world
that just likes to settle it to
a horoscope for the monthwhat can we do, NASA once did
send a capsule seated two astronauts
( - twins if you will; )
coming back telling us these
constellations aren't just formed,
but i m a g i n e d into stars
to tell us about a future we
never thought we'd see,
to put them into pieces
of poetry we never thought we'd write
named after heroes we never
knew we had
and
to witness miracles every night
