There once was a prince who the whole kingdom loved. He was kind to all and always lent a helping hand.
The problem was that he fell in love too easily, and people often yook advantage of him.
One day, after the third time his heart had been broken, his maid Piper had had enough. She found an old spell book in the library of the castle. She gathered together all who lived in the castle so the spell would reach them too.
"Do you think this is really necessary?" Reyna, the Head of the Guard, asked.
"It is," Piper said. "No one with ill intentions will come near him if we do this."
"That also means no one with good intentions will come near him either," the librarian, Annabeth mused. "For the spell to be undone, someone will have to fall for him."
"We have to do it. Will is our friend as well as our prince," Piper insisted. The others looked at each other before nodding at her.
"Go for it," Reyna said.
Piper turned back to the book and closed her multicolored eyes. She recited the rhyme that would change their lives forever.
Change this man into a beast,
So his heart will not be fleeced.
Change us too, so we can help
To heal the heart of this broken whelp.
No one outside this castle is to remember
The prince who loves his kingdom with a burning fire.
A blinding light flashed, and a great roar was heard. In the place of the occupants of the room were common household items. A single rose rested on the open spell book, a faint glow surrounding it.
None of them knew that it would be years before the person they were waiting for would come to the castle.
