Alina's POV!

This was the year. The was going to be my year!

Over the summer I realized that I hadn't been taking time to have fun and get myself out there.

I am kind of on the shy side (A/N same) so it can be a little difficult to put myself out there sometimes.

Anyway, it was about the 2nd week of school when my friend was holding a back to school party.

Obviously I was invited, so I was getting ready when I got a text...

"Hey Alina! Btw I invited Per just for you! ;)"

WHHHHAATTT

I frantically texted her back, "What why woULD YOU DO THAT?"

"I did because you told me that you wanted get yourself out there more. This just happens to be a perfect chance to."

I rolled my eyes, "Ok, I guess you're right. But I gtg finish getting ready. I'll be at your house in about 30."

"K"

I put my phone down and went into my bathroom. I curled my hair into perfect curls and then threw a smokey eye on with a nude lip.

Once I finished I went to my closet and picked out my favorite outfit.

After I got ready I went downstairs and told my mom I was leaving. She nodded and said, "Ok, have fun and be home at curfew."

I nodded, "You got it."

I walked out the door and went to the party.

~AT THE PARTY~

I arrived wearing my favorite outfit and I was actually feeling confident with myself.

I really want this to be MY year, and the only was to do that is if I make it that way. That is just what I intend to do.

I found my friends and they greeted me happily.

"Hey guess what, Per is standing right over there! And he's looking at you!"

"Oh my gosh. I can't look, it'll look like you just told me he was staring at me!" I said frantically.

He was standing my the punch bowls so I decided I was going to go get some, maybe he'll start up a conversation...

I walk over, head held high, and I accidentally bumped into him. Not a purposeful one though, he's the one that bumped into me actually.

He turned around and said, "Oh, I'm so sorry! My ding dong friend over here pushed me."

I smiled. "It's ok, I was just getting..."

He cut me off, "Punch?"

"Yep, you're like a mind reader I guess."

We both laughed. Wow I can not believe I am actually talking to him right now!

"You know, maybe we should do outside, it's kind of crowded in here."

I nodded, but inside I was thinking "OMG. OMG. OMG. Be cool Alina!"

We excused ourselves from the party and went to my friend's front porch.

Her porch was nice, it was set up so there was a lot of seating options.

We choose to sit on the swing chairs (A/N Swing chairs sounds funny. I hope you know what I mean! If you don't it's like a chair but it swings...) We both sat down and he said, "Listen, I've noticed you at school a lot last year. I was too nervous to say anything because you're so pretty! My friends said I should try to make you jealous by having many girl friends and stuff. I said that was crazy but they said it would work! Well, as you can see it didn't get us very far."

I smiled, "You don't know how long I have been waiting to hear that..."
