I stop, my head racing and my eyes frantically looking out at the endless universe behind me. I turn my head just slightly to the left, and I see him. Because we are in Earth's atmosphere, he's falling. Not just falling, I shouldn't say that; plummeting, and fast, too. Luckily, with my powers, within an instant I am in his path, my arms extended out towards him. His body falls into mine, having both of us nearly crash and tumble. The half-breed gasps, his eyes shooting open as he grabs on to my sleeve.

"(Y/n)," His voice is loud, causing my ears to twitch. "I'm so sorry, what I did--!" I put a hand over his mouth, rolling my eyes before closing them in annoyance.

"Trunks, you're fine. You didn't need to let go, either, I understand why you did what you did. It's alright, just relax." Gulping, he nods and takes a few breaths. "Alright, so," I pause, taking a look around. "Jumping from timeline to timeline will be tiring. Once we get there, I'm going to be exhausted, so don't expect me to be a big ball of happiness." I say with a small smile, adjusting my crop top and baggy jeans. I flip my hair a little bit, and begin to ask Trunks about his timeline. I ask him what's the date, and how fucked it really is. Plus, numerous more questions about his timeline and himself. He mentions the Goku Black and Zamasu situation, telling me all about it.

"It took us so long to get any damage on him, but Lord Beerus just incinerated him in like three seconds." His gravelly voice is entrancing, soothing and relaxing to listen to. Luckily, my back is to him once again, so he cannot see the small smile of entertainment I have on my lips.

"At least the problem is all over with, right?" I say, trying to sound the slightest bit empathetic. I turn my head slightly to notice Trunks' head bob, but his head hangs low as if he's trying to hide his face. I resist the urge to ask him what's wrong as I feel the impact of the landing bestow itself. I stand still, but Trunks fumbles over himself a little bit, though catches himself before he can trip.

What once was a beautiful and busy city, most likely heavily populated, is now nothing but ruins. The sky stays dark, sending a gray hue all over the landscape. Countless buildings lay in heaps of dust, ash, cement, glass, and metal. A lot of the debris has clearly been there for awhile, showing by the vines and weeds that snake up fallen rocks and broken structures. The roads are unearthed and cracked, the sidewalks destroyed and practically dust paths. Cars are tipped, flipped upside down and busted to hell. The road lamps and street signs are mangled, wires jutting out of rods and sharpened metal poles stick up out of the dust and concrete. The sight of a car with an infant car seat in it tugs at my heartstrings.

"Trunks, this is awful." I say to the Saiyan half-breed, his eyes meeting mine, dread in his expression.

"We were just getting the people who survived together. We were trying to grow as a community." His eyes flicker with hate. "Until those two bastards decided to butt in and show up like they own the place."

I look around yet again, seeing the destruction Black and Zamasu truly caused. "Are there any survivors, other than yourself?"

He seems to think, but talks almost as if he's a little guilty with himself. "Actually, I don't know. We had them all gather in an underground area, but Black shot at it and the whole thing caved in on itself. I don't know if he knew that there were people in there, or if he was just taking guesses at what could do the most damage if he blew it up. Honestly, I'm pretty nervous to go back there and see the possible casualties. I've already seen so much, I don't know what else I could take. There were children there, too. Not many, but there were children." Hi voice seems to shake, cracking at the end of his sentence.

I take a second to process this information. "I'll go along with you to see. I can raise the rubbish off everyone to see if there are any survivors still trapped. It has been awhile, though, so I'm unaware if they'll still be alive and well. You wouldn't have to look, either, I could inform you after I look."

Trunks looks over to me, a bright smile on his face. Never before has something so slight and mundane warmed my heart like that smile. "That'd be fantastic if you could do that, thank you. Follow me." He turns and becomes airborne, flying towards the spot as to where the people are trapped, and hopefully alive.

After about twenty minutes, we had already checked the place the people had been located. I was sorry to tell Trunks, but there were no survivors. The sight was gruesome and violent, gory and vivid. I refused to allow Trunks to see what I was exposing to him. Once the news had been broken to him, he didn't seem all that surprised. "That's kind of what I figured." He said, his eyes filled with dread. The smile he once had on his face was wiped off with nothing but a blank expression. "Maybe I could just travel around the world and see if there are any other people alive. Black had said something about wreaking havoc on all corners of the Earth, but all I can do right now is hope that was a bluff." The blue-haired man in front of me smiles a small, hopeful smile.

My head bobs in his direction. "When do you plan on doing that?" I ask, walking closer to him. The debris underneath my feet crackles with my weight. "If it's soon, I would like to suggest that you rest beforehand."

"I can't afford to rest, (Y/n)," he starts, sounding desperate, "I just can't." His body turns to me with his eyes drained of anything that resembles positivity. "I've rested easy after the androids, and I barely trained at all. Because I was resting so easily, I wasn't able to put up barely any of a fight to Black. When they fused, I would have been killed in all sorts of ways, any way that their sick and combined minds could have come up with. I want to take it easy, I want to rest and relax. The thing is, I just can't afford to let another chance to go to waste." Trunks finishes his speech with a long, exhausted sounding sigh.

The dark sky in the background seems to get darker, and I can tell it's about to start raining sooner rather than later. I don't pay too much mind to it, though, so I just look over at Trunks with a long look, trying to hide my slight irritation that he raised his voice at me. "Trunks, I'm not going to try and convince you otherwise, but don't you think you should at least sleep for tonight?" I ask, my head tilting to the side slightly. There are rings under Trunks' eyes, and it's making me nervous about his health. "It concerns me greatly that you're not taking the time to rest. Sleep is really important, and you haven't gotten a lot of it, lately. You've been so focused on everything else, try giving yourself some time to unwind."

I barely get my sentence out before Trunks starts to talk again. "With all due respect, (Y/n), but what happens if you're totally wrong? What happens if it's all wrong and something terrible just happens again?"

"The possibility of that happening is very unlikely, though I have a solution that may help put your mind at ease." I smile, standing tall, my back straight and my hands clasped together in front of me. I close my eyes as allow a wave of power surge out of my body, a bright blue light peaking out of the dark grey clouds. The light is soon put out, the dark clouds looking as gloomy as ever. "There is now a forcefield around this planet, nothing more powerful than you can enter the atmosphere, but can leave at will." I smile at Trunks.

He seems a little shocked, before he nods towards the opposite direction with a smile. "Thank you so much. You have no idea how much that means to me." His smile warms my heart, a heart that a lot of people would consider cold. "Would you mind coming over to Capsule Corp. with me? Maybe I could fix you something to eat? We don't really have too much, but something is better than nothing." He welcomes me. I'm a little surprised, but I soon nod with a satisfied hum. "Great! Also, I may just take up your offer of going to bed." He laughs, something I don't think I've heard out of him until this point.

"Well," I take a second to think of something to say, "I would love it if you would show me to your home. Maybe one day, I could show you to mine." I smile, following back to Capsule Corp. as he takes off in the air.
