"3...2...1, cheese!", the photographer says before he clicks the camera, taking my picture as I smile widely. It was the week before I start junior year of highschool, today we were getting our school IDs. I walk over to the machine that prints my ID. After a a few seconds, my card prints.

"Abigail Adams High", it says printed above my picture, with my name, student ID number and grade level printed below.

As I walk out of the school I see a car pull up next to a girl. She gets up and hops in, something falling from her back pocket. As I walk closer I realize that was her ID. "Hey, you forgot something!", I call out but she seems to not hear me because the car drives off.

"Maya Hart", it says beside a picture of a stunning blonde. "Woah.", I say to myself. She must be new because I haven't seen her around at all. I look at her grade number and notice she's also a junior.

"What are you staring at? Get in!", my friend, Isadora laughs as she pulls up in front of me.

"Hey Issy.", I smile as I sit in the passenger seat.

"Who is that?", she points to the card in my hand and adds,"Cause I know that's not you."

"Uh, some girl dropped it while she was going into her car.", I say.

"Bet she's new.", she says and starts driving.

"Yeah. I'll try to find her on the first day of school."

She nods and focuses on driving. I look back at the card. She was really pretty.

"Riley...Riley!", I hear Isadora say.

"What?"

"We're here."

"Oh.", I say as I barely notice the car was already parked into the driveway of Topanga's.

----------------------------------------------

"Maya Hart.", I say aloud as I stare at her picture, laying down on my bed. I couldn't look away. Her blue eyes, shiny smile, blonde hair, and button nose were all so addicting. She looked kind and charming, not like how I would interpret the usual blonde. I can't wait to see this girl in person.

"Stop being so creepy.", my friend,!Farkle says from my doorway.

I jump up from my bed. "Farkle! What are you doing here?", I ask.

"First day of school.", he smiles.

"What?! I forgot! What time is it?", I ask as I dig through my closet looking for something cute to wear.

"Calm down. It's only 6:30. Plenty of time to look pretty for your mystery girl.", he jokes.

"Ha. Ha.", I say nonchalantly and roll my eyes.

"You're obsessed."

"Am not!"

"You are. I've caught you so many times staring at the card while you're hanging out with any of us."

"Whatever. Leave, I need to change.", I say and shoo him out of the room.

After I finish getting ready for school, Farkle and I go eat breakfast. When we get to school, I immediately start looking around for the girl.

"Riley, calm down. You'll see her eventually.", Farkle said from beside me.

"I'm not looking for her! I'm looking for my locker.", I lie.

"Whatever you say."

Once I go to my locker I place all of my items and books inside. Soon enough, Lucas, Zay, and Isadora also find their way to us. Mid way through conversation, I spot a girl with blonde hair walk to a locker on the other side. I stare at her for a bit, wondering what I should say. I reach in my pocket I grab her card.

"Just go talk to her.", Lucas sighs. I take a deep breathe,"Okay."

I see her digging through her backpack. "Are you serious! I literally just got it last week and I can't find it anywhere.", I hear her say to herself.

"Hi. I'm Riley.", I say awkwardly.

"Hey.", she smiles back. Now I have a clear view of her face, she looks even better in person. Her eyes make her way down to my hands, seeing her card.

"No way! You found it?", she says.

"Yeah, you dropped it while you were going to your car.", I hand it to her.

"Thanks!", she says.

"It was no problem. You're new here right?"

"Yeah, just moved from Cali."

"Wow, Californias pretty different from New York."

"Haha yeah. I'm getting used to it."

"Well, I can show you around New York if you want."

Her smile grows wide,"I would love that, Riley."

"Are you free after school?"

"It's a date.", she gives me a smile then closes her locker and walks away.

I'm left in shock, smiling like an idiot. "It's a date.", I say to myself.
