My Joy But Pain

Chapter 15

 After we arrived home I started to make cookies, for my baby shower. Tessa said it with be this upcoming Sunday, so in three days. I just want everything to go ok, no problems or troubles.

" Vanessa?"

" Yeah?" 

" Do you need some help?" I think Trevor is starting to get bored around the house, he finishes his homework in about thirty minutes and during the day he goes to school.

" Yeah sure."

" Ok." I start guiding him through the process telling him how much to mix and what it should look like when it's ready to bake.

" It's not too hard once you start doing it." I giggle.

" That's what you think. You can add simple spices and change the whole flavor just with the mix you have."

" Really?"

" Yeah per say we mix some cinnamon and sugar together next you put it in the original mix. It will make it dry so you will need to add some liquid. I would add vanilla , it's simple yet it brings lots of flavor."

" Wow, how do you know so much about this stuff? I barely know how to make a salad."

" My grandmother taught me. Also we will work on that salad thing another time."

" Ok." We finish making  cookies and by the time I finish it's nine O'Clock, dishes included.

" Trevor can you please get the shower started for me?"

" Yes I can." He gives me a kiss on the cheek then goes upstairs. I hear the water start and begin to make my way up the stairs. I thank Trevor and hug him.

" You're welcome baby." 

* Trevor's P.O.V.*

She goes in the bathroom and I get the bed ready for when she comes out. I pull the sheets back a little on both sides. I change out of my clothes and into my shorts that I wear to bed. I turn the t.v. on and lay in bed. 

" I'm home!" James? I get up and go downstairs. No one in the living room or hallway so he must be in the kitchen, but it wasn't James, it was Chad. I thought we were done with this shit.

" Hey buddy! How are you?" He starts to walk towards me but I notice that he can't walk straight.

" Chad are you drunk?"

" Hell yeah! Now where is my pretty girl Vanessa?" I want to kick his ass but that is not the solution.

" Chad go home."

" I am home."

" No this is not your home now leave. Before I call the cops." I don't even know how he got in.

" Yes it is now where is Vanessa?!" He starts  to make his way up the stairs. Oh hell no. When he gets to the stairs I see Vanessa at the top.

" Their you are baby. I missed you today." I wrap my arms around him to keep him from going any further.

" Vanessa go to the room and lock the door then call the cops." I tell her, I don't want him to lay a single finger or even a hair in her.

" Come on man I thought we were bestfriends. You don't mind sharing you girl don't you? I mean Tyler got to her that one night, and yet you are gonna raise his kids." That's it, no one insults me or my family, even if we aren't married yet. We have been through too much shit together. I push him up against the wall and start beating the shit out of him. He only hits me once or twice. He tries for more but he is too drunk to have good aim.

I hear a knock on the door. " Come in!"

" Sir please get off of him." I climb off of him and go up to the bedroom.

" Vanessa, it's me. Trevor." She opens the door and clings on to me.

* Vanessa's P.O.V.*

 I can't believe that he found out where I live, how did he get in? I went to see what was going on and there he was at the bottom of the stairs. When he saw me I could see how much he wanted me in his eyes and I froze, until Trevor started speaking to me. I walked as fast as I could to my room and locked the door the first thing I did next was call the police. Then all I remember was putting clothes on and Trevor yelling, then him coming up here.

" Are you ok?" I don't know how to answer this.

" I don' t know." He just holds me tight. A police officer comes up the stairs and knocks on our door.

" We need you to come downstairs, or we could come up here."

" Would you please come up here." Trevor says. The officer nods his head and waves his hands for  more policemen to come in.

" What happened tonight?" The police officer takes out a pad of paper and a pencil. Trevor tells the story while I just sit there and slowly drift off in his arms.

When I woke up the next morning I was alone.There was a note on his bed side table though.

* Dear Vanessa, I went down to file a restraining order against Chad. Be back soon.

Well ok, he is doing the right thing. I go downstairs and make myself some breakfast, which is just gonna be cereal. I look at my phone and  I have one missed call, from Chad. Ok I will talk to him one last time. I call him back and he picks up immediately.

" Vanessa I wanted to apologize for my behavior last night." Well I can't exactly forgive him.

" I can't forgive you, but thank you for the apology anyways. Goodbye for good." I end the phone call and change his contact name to unwanted. I call Trevor but he doesn't answer. He must still be at the court house. Well then I shall call my dad.

" Hello."

" Hi dad, where are you?"

" I am upstairs Vanessa, what do you need?"

" A buddy."

" Alright I'm coming." He ends the phone call and I hear him come downstairs.

" Are you lonely?"

" Yes I am." He sits down on the couch next to me. 

" Do you want to go to the zoo?" Omg yes!

" Yes please."

" Ok well finish your breakfast and get dressed then we will go."

" Ok." I hurry and finish my cereal and put my bowl in the sink. I go upstairs and through on a pair of yoga pants and a t-shirt. It's about fifty degrees out so I know I made the right choice on yoga pants. I grab my purse, phone, and keys. I head back downstairs and grab a light jacket. 

" I'm ready." He just smiles and laughs.

" Okay let's go." We head outside and get in my car. It's a thirty minute drive to the zoo so we have time to just talk or relax. I get on my facebook and make a status. 

* Going to the zoo with my dad. Father- daughter time. So excited.* 

" Have you thought about the wedding?"

"  No, I think we time before we do that." I laugh and he does too..

*** Sorry it is short but I wanted to update. I found out some amazing news yesterday and am very excited about it. I am gonna be and aunt.!***
