Chapter 12

-Two weeks later-

   It was Saturday morning and I was downstairs in the kitchen get some water to drink.Once I filled up my water bottle I went back up to my room and got back into bed.Trevor was still sound asleep and I thought he looked adorable.

"I'm home!"It was a male voice that didn't sound familiar.Who could it be?

"Trevor wake up somebody is downstairs!"I whisper shouted and he instantly woke up.

"Stay here.I will go and check it out."

"No I want to at least see who it is."

"No you are pregnant no way."

"Uhh fine."We heard someone coming up the stairs.

"Vanessa are you home?"How did this creep know my name.Suddenly a tall man step into the door frame and I felt tears fall down my cheeks.

"Dad?"It was really him.Trevor stopped and looked at me.

"Yes pumpkin it's dad."It really was him, I got out of the bed as fast as I could.I ran to him as fast as my body would let me until I was in his arms.

"Dad I missed you so much."I cried into his chest and he just rubbed my back in a soothing motion.

"James?Is that you?"

"Yes Karen it is."Another pair of arms came around my dad and I.

"We missed you so much."

"I missed both of you two too and does anyone want to introduce me to the young man, which might I add looks very uncomfortable."Uh oh...

"Dad this is Trevor."

"And is he the one who has now caused my angel to become a mom."Even worse.

"James come with me to the kitchen and I will explain.Ok?"

"Ok.I will be back boy."They leave the room and I just stand there processing on what just happened.

"Vanessa you should lie down."I don't say anything I just go and sit on the bed.I enjoy Trevor's arms around me while I think about what happened.

"Can't believe he is back Trevor, I missed him so much."

"I know.I can't believe that I have known you all these and never met your father."I laugh a little when I realize that he is right.

"You're right.I never notice and now when you do finally meet him he wants to kill you."We laugh a little.I slide down under the covers and so does Trevor.We fall asleep in each others and arms.

"Vanessa, can we come in?"I turn over realizing that my dad was still home.

"Of course."He and my mother come in and sit in the two chairs in our room.I sit up and wake Trevor.

"Vanessa I have missed you and your mom so much, and now that I know what has happened I figured that I would tell you my news now."What could it be?Is he leaving again?

"What is it?"I hold Trevor's hand and squeeze it a little.

"I'm retiring from the army."Is he serious?

"You are joking."

"No I'm not.I already signed the papers and I'm turning them in tomorrow."I get up from the bed and hug him.

"Are you the person who sent me the message about seeing me?"

"How did you know?" He chuckles and I just hug him.

"Are you staying here?"

"Of course pumpkin.Now why don't you tell me about my unborn grandchild.Is it a boy or a girl?"
