While wandering the streets, I came across several posters plastered around advertising Ciel's charity event for orphans. It was even plastered all over the papers. He's decided on putting on a play, Hamlet specifically. I've purposely avoided being casted by Sebastian for several days. While it would be fun, there are times when you simply want to kick back, relax and enjoy the train wreck for yourself. They'd manage just fine without me. Since it's for a good cause, I happily purchased tickets for my servants as well— Front row seats for the best view. The boys were certainly excited about it.
On the day of the performance, we took our seats in the packed house, waiting for the curtain to lift and the show to begin. Drossel was on my right, Arthur on my left. Beside him was Oliver, who seemed to have made a friend with the little boy next to him. All chatter turned to silence as the lights dimmed down and the curtain started to rise. A single spotlight shone onto a figure standing off to the far right of the stage. It was Finny dressed nicely in a brown suit, standing tall and rigid out of nerves. He kept his eyes up, off the crowd, and narrated in a stiff voice that was loud enough for the theater to hear.
"The King of Denmark was met with an untimely death. He is succeeded by his young brother. Claudius has been crowned king. And the late king's wife, who until now has seemed to love him unconditionally, has scandalously become the bride of Denmark's newest ruler." The lights filled the stage, drawing the attention away from the young gardener to the pair sitting on a wide, throne-like chair center stage. One was Lau, who played the part of king, as for the other... Who would have ever guessed Undertaker would look so good in a dress?
'Huh. Pink is definitely his color.' I give a nod of approval, leaning back in my chair in a less than ladylike manner with my arm draped over the back of the seat and partially over Drossel's shoulder, he didn't seem to mind.
"Oh! What happened to my brother was such a terrible tragedy, but we're both still alive, so shouldn't we enjoy ourselves? Huh?"
"Hehehe. Absolutely, my dear!"
"Pardon my reach." Showing clear discomfort, Lau reaches over to caress Undertaker's exposed, boney chest. "Ah! How lovely you are. Your bosom... Like a pair of new, ripe apples. Simply heavenly... Heavenly, heavenly, my darlin—" Unable to help himself, Undertaker started squirming and laughing from the tickling touch. He tired to push Lau away, but the laughter only encouraged the man to continue.
"Hahaha! Your Majesty! You're getting a bit handsy for me, don't you think? I am a lady, after all! Hahahahaha!" His contagious laughter got to me, but I managed to keep it low enough not to bother the crowd. Thankfully, the curtain drops and the scene changes to Ciel standing by a castle prop. Finney was quick to announce what was happening.
