New Friends

The morning after our movie night, Miko, Jack, and Raph were at the base for the afternoon. I had already spoken to Raph and Jack about the way I had acted when the first arrived, since I still felt really guilty about the way I treated them. I realize now that I couldn't have been that easy to comprehend giant talking robots from outterspace that turn into cars. Jack and Raph seem to have forgiven me, in all honesty, they said they barely even noticed my hostility. Miko, however, was harder to approach for me. 

Miko was the one that made me the most upset when she first arrived, but only because she was acting like Miko. Now that we've all gotten a little better acquainted, I wanted to talk to her and apologize, but I'm just not sure how I should do that yet. 

I look down at my new green necklace that I received from Ratchet, and finally figure that if I didn't go right now to talk to her, I might never pluck up the courage to do so. 

"Hey, Miko, can I talk to you for a second?" I asked her as I approached her and the boys. 

"Sure!" She replied enthusiastically. "Bulk and Bee were just heading out on a scouting mission anyway." She followed me back to the energon supply room, away from everyone else still at base. 

"What you have on your mind, Jade?" She asked me with her signature Miko smile. 

"I just wanted to apologize for the way I treated you and the boys this past week," I started and embarrassingly rubbed my neck. "It wasn't really fair to any of you. I just feel really protective over the bots, and I don't want them to get hurt, so I guess it's given me a bit of a trust issue. I just wanted to say I'm sorry, and I wanted to start over if you were okay with that." I finished and finally looked up at her in the eyes. 

"Really?" She replied confused. "I didn't even notice!" She laughed. "I guess we can start over if you really want to. Hey!" She suddenly yelled. "My favorite store at the mall is having a huge sale today, want to go with me?" She asked excitedly. 

"Isn't the closest mall like an hour away?" I asked nervously. I didn't really want her to know that I've never actually been shopping before.

"Yeah, but we can have Ratchet bridge us there! It'll be so fun, come on! Please?" Miko gave me puppy dog eyes, which broke me down into a small nervous nod.  "Yes! Come on, let's go!" 

She pulled my arm as she ran into the main area where only Ratchet and Optimus were waiting. 

"Hey, Ratchet, can you bridge us to the nearest mall so Jade and I can go shopping?" She asked excitedly, still holding onto my arm. 

"You want to go shopping with Jade?" Ratchet asked incredulously. 

"Well, duh. We're the only girls here, not like I can take Jack or Raph." She replied and rolled her eyes. 

"But Jade has never been shopping before." Optimus replied and I groaned internally and hid my face. 

"What do you mean? How do you get your clothes and food then?" Miko asked and looked at me. 

"Uncle Fowler has always brought me everything I need. I think he has some sort of assistant that helps him with some stuff and over the years he's understood what I need and want. I've never really had to go shopping on my own. I've never even been outside of Jasper unless it was on a mission. If you include missions I've been all over the world." I concluded. 

"Well, I'd be happy to take you on your first ever shopping trip." Miko replied and smiled excitedly. "Do you have any money?" She asked. 

"Actually, Agent Fowler has been leaving money for you for quite a while. We have plenty saved for you incase an instant like this ever arose." Optimus answered and walked away. We saw him reach into a small vault by Ratchet's computers and he pulled out a small drawstring bag. Inside were a few small wallets, all of which, I assumed, were full of money.
