After everyone went home and the bots started doing their normal patrols, I continued working on my arm. I want to be able to use my grappling hook from my arm, and I'd really like a torch like Ratchet has. By the next day, Ratchet was hard at work trying to turbo charge the groundbridge, while I had finally made all the modifications I could to my arm.
"Hey Bee!" I yelled when I saw him walking into the hanger. "I finally made all the modifications to my arm! I get to work on my legs next." He turned to me with concern.
"You should take it easy, Jade. I don't want you getting hurt from pushing yourself too far. You should get used to this first!"
"Well, unfortunately our little team is in a state of emergency and none of us can afford to take anything slowly. I'm getting the hang of it just fine!" He shook his head and simply walked away.
"What's your problem?" I asked defensively. "You've been ignoring me!" He just continued shaking his head and went to his own quarters. I walked up to Ratchet.
"Need any help, Ratch?" I asked.
"I'm only tinkering, Jade. No need to get anyone's hopes up." He looked up at me. "You however seem to be in a situation."
"What's up with Bee? He won't talk to me like normal. He barely fragging looks at me!" He sighed and put down his tools.
"Do you remember when I confided in you about how Bumblebee lost his voicebox?" He asked.
"Yeah, you saved his life." I replied.
"But I could have done more. If I had done my job correctly, Bumblebee wouldn't be permanently damaged." Ratchet sadly shook his head. I've actually known for quite a long time that this is something that Ratchet has always felt guilty about.
"You know you did everything you could to fix his voicebox. It's because of you that his spark still beats!" I tell him.
"I know I could have done more. Don't you think that Bumblebee feels something similar? I mean- we don't even know how you've been permanently affected by the energon in your bloodstream."
"But Bumblebee had nothing to do with it, there was nothing more he could do!" I say angrily.
"He doesn't believe that." Ratchet shrugged and continued working on the groundbridge. I sighed sadly and went to work making modifications to my legs.
After a few hours, Fowler's voice came through the communications system.
"Ratchet! You awake? This is an emergency!" Ratchet looked up from his work and toward his computer, and the other three bots walked in.
"Agent Fowler, is it Optimus?" Ratchet asked.
"And they're busting into the same military science lab they hit two months ago!"
"They're after a power source!"
"Another spacebridge?" Bulkhead asked.
"Well, for all we know, Optimus is riding with them!" Arcee said.
"Roll out!" Ratchet said.
"Ratchet, can I go?" I asked as he opened the groundbridge.
"Is there any point in me arguing with you?" He asked.
"Not really." I replied honestly.
"Well then it seems you've answered your own question." He grumbled and the three other bots and I ran through the grounbridge, me on my wheels. When we get through the groundbridge, we see Breakdown with the device and Knockout with the shielding weapon he acquired not too long ago.
