- ALEXANDERS POV -
I wake up with the sun glowing on my face. I move slightly so I don't wake Thomas. He's gorgeous.

"Oh am I?" He mumbles, smirking. I blush realizing I said it out loud. He pulls me closer and kisses my nose. I hear a knock at the door. Lafayette pulls it open, smirking.

"You lovebirds want to go with us to, how you say, brunch?" He asks. I look at Thomas and nod.

"Yeah, we'll go with you."

"D'accord, we're leaving in 20." He tells us.

"Thomaaaas!" I say as he tickles me.

"We have to go! I- I can't breathe!" I say between my laughter. He lets go smiling. We go to the closet and we both pull on jeans. I grab a green shirt and he puts on a magenta one. I fluff his hair so he won't spend his usual 10 minutes on it. Impatiently, I tug on his arm.

"I'm coming, I'm coming." He says, smirking. We meet with the group in the living room and pile into our cars.

*time skip to brunch*

"Alex, give me a potato." Jefferson says.

"No." I say smirking, and putting a piece in my mouth.

"Well I want one, so I guess I'll just have to take it from you." He tells me with a devilish grin on his face. He leans over right before I start chewing and begins to kiss me. I laugh a little and he slips his tongue in my mouth, somehow stealing the potato.

"Thomas, how the hell did you do that?" I ask, a hand covering my red face as I realize the entire table, and restaurant, probably, just say us make out.

"Aww!" Eliza says. This makes me blush even harder.

"Come on Alex, you don't need to be embarrassed. We've all done it~" Peggy says with a wink. Always the sly one, she is. I laugh along with the rest of our group.
After we finish eating and pay the bill, everyone bids each other farewell and we go off to our separate dorms.

"Alexander? We should get inside..." Thomas says hesitantly, looking up. I stare at the sky, blood rushing in my ears. It's dark. There's a storm coming.

I rush inside and Thomas follows quickly behind me. I slam the door just after he gets in our room. I hear a crack of thunder and whimper a bit. The rain starts. I feel arms around me. I try to calm down, knowing Thomas is there to protect me.

But that's what you thought about James, and he died and left you, just like everyone else. A voice in my head calls. Screwing my eyes shut, I rock back and forth in his arms.

"Alex, breathe with me. 1, 2, 3, in. 1, 2, 3, out." He repeats. Slowly, my breathing is even, but my heart is still thumping fast. I gently press my ear against Thomas's chest to hear his heartbeat.

Nothing is wrong. Thomas is here. Thomas is keeping me safe. There's no hurricane. I think to myself. I repeat this mantra in my head until the storm is over a little while later. Thank God Thomas was there to keep it from getting too bad.

"Thank you. I've had panic attacks because of storms so bad that I was hospitalized. Like when I didn't take my medication. But you helped me, for the second time." I say quietly. He kisses me lightly on the cheek.

"It's nothing, love. I'm doing it to make your life easier. I know I made mistakes, God, so many mistakes, but I want to help fix them, or make up for them as much as I can." He tells me after kissing me. I blush and hug him, leaning against his chest like I did a bit earlier.

"Hey, that storm has cleared up and it looks pretty nice out. Want to head to the park?" He asks, gently threading this fingers through my brown hair. I nod and he scoops me up while I laugh at the gesture.

"Lets go then!" He starts marching out the door with me in his arms.

"Thomas!" I laugh, "We don't even have shoes on! Or our phones our wallets!" I tell him.

"Ok... I guess we sort of do need those things.." he fake sulks as we put or shoes on and grab slide our wallets and phones into our pockets.

"Are we finally ready now, Mr. Know It All?" He asks teasingly. I nod with a grin on my face and we walk hand in hand to the park, stopping every once in a while to kiss. Yeah, cheesy lovebirds, like Laf said earlier, but it was cute. This man will be the death of me. In a good way, that is.

We get to the park with gentle sunlight shining on our faces. Heading to a park bench, I pull him down and play with his hair a bit. We're talking for a while until we hear a familiar voice shout towards us:

"Ah, Hamilton! The disgusting gay bastard! Tell me, is this your little boyfriend? You can both go burn in hell with your bitch mother!" I see Thomas turn red with rage.

"How DARE you say that! Get the hell out of here before I throw that sorry ass of yours against a tree!" He shouts.

"Aw, someone thinks he's so strong! How cute. Who do you think you are, you piece of shit?" He asks to Thomas.

"You get the fuck away from Thomas right now, King! Leave us alone or I'll report you for harassment to the police!" I push him slightly, more anger filling me up at his insults towards Thomas than the ones at me. I'm sort of used to it by now. George King scampers away at the mention of being reported. Thomas hugs me. It seems like he's been doing that a lot lately.

"Thank you for standing up for me." I tell him.

"That dick better never bother you again, or I'm reporting him, I swear to God!" He says, getting the last of his anger out of him.

"Me as well, dear. Should we go home?" I ask. I don't know if he wants to risk something like that happening again, but he shakes his head.

"I heard there's a really good place for lunch down the street. We could go there first. We also need groceries afterwards. Peggy totally cleaned all our food out when they were all over." He laughs at the end part, as do I. We approach the restaurant and go inside. I order a burger with Swiss cheese, honey mustard, and bacon, and Thomas gets a fried chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato. After we eat, we discover the dessert menu.

"Oh my God, ice cream sounds amazing right now!" I say, reading that they have a soft serve machine with tons of flavors.

"Ditto. Let's do this!" Thomas says, paying for the bill, including the ice cream. We walk to the station and both decide on dark chocolate raspberry. It's absolutely delicious. We both "mmm" at the same time, then laugh. Walking down the New York streets with ice cream to the grocery store, we both look around and realize just how lucky we are to be alive right now.

AUTHORS NOTE: So, if you read the previous note, I said I wasn't uploading a chapter today. It's 10 minutes to midnight here but here you go! I whipped it up pretty fast so sorry if it's bad. This was a sorta filler chapter, and the next one will definitely be a filler but oh well. I'm hoping this writing improves and my writes block goes away!! It sucks. Thanks so much for reading!💕
