she put her lips on his lips, slipping a tongue occasionally in a trailer kitchen, her shirt going over her head and helping his shirt over his. his hands cupping her face, and her blonde hair against the cupboard. "betty," he called out, bringing his lips away from hers. "what?" she asked, disappointed, longing for more. "betty" he called out once more as a bright light appeared around him. "BETTY!" veronica yelled, smashing betty's face with a soft pillow. "ugh, veronica what is it..?" betty asked, dissatisfied with how her dream ended. she rubbed her eyes as she adjusted her position and stood up. "your late," veronica said, pointing directly at her bedside clock showing "7:28 am". "oh crap!" betty exclaimed, running towards her closet to dress up. she would then run towards the door, adjusting her left shoe to fit, and grabbing her keys briefly before running out the door to the parking lot. "crap crap crap!" she yelled in frustration, driving all the way to work.
she arrived at work with her hair not even close to a ponytail, her cardigan sleeve down to her elbow, and her blouse barely buttoned up. she ran all the way to her private workspace, attempting to fix the mess she made. she pulled out a extra hair tie she keeps on her wrist (at all times) and put her hair in its usual state. still fixing herself up, geraldine grundy, jughead's personal assistant, stopped by betty's office raising her brow at her inappropriate behavior. "betty this is not a place to be bedazzling yourself, get to work!" she hissed, walking away from her little bubble. betty scoffed, in disbelief that a assistant yelled at her. after adjusting her look, she finally made her way to start working, but of course not for long. jughead jones, a smile that would be unforgettable, walked into her specialty's workspace. he walked around, monitoring everyone's work, and finally came around to betty's station. he grinned as he came across her desk, like he had been eager to come and see what she had been working on. "its not much, i know, but i can assure mr. jones that im working very hard to catch up with everyone," she tried to explain, anxious to know his opinion. he chuckled as he read through what she had typed in the few hours she was working, a new story that hadn't been reported yet. "its good cooper, its good," he told her, changing his eyes from the screen to her. "would you mind stepping into my office for a moment?" he asked, offering his hand. "of course mr. jones," she replied, hesitant for whats to come. her heart raced as her hand touched his, blushing softly as she stood up from her chair. then they walked to his office together, avoiding eye contact. and little did betty know the events that would take in that office.
they walked in his office, jughead in his leather chair, and betty standing in confusion. he spun around in his chair, his palms sweaty and his heart pumping. "so betty cooper, how has the office been treating you..?" he asked, adjusting his position where his legs crossed each other. "oh, and you should sit down," he suggested, his hands gesturing to sit down in the two chairs in front of his desk. she let out a faint smile, sitting down in front of him. "uhm, its been quite nice," she replied, cupping her hands together. "mr. jones i understand we had that moment together but i hope we can put that in the past," betty expressed, trying to fix her mistakes, since that was all she could do. he bit his lip, contemplating his decision, deciding if it was worth it or not. and then the unthinkable happened. he stood up from her chair and put his lips on hers, as he was craving for the softness. he closed his eyes, savoring the moment for one last time, and she did the same, hoping the moment would last forever. she put his hand on his face, smiling softly as the kiss went on, his tongue slipping in. then the kiss broke, and he wiped the saliva from his mouth, avoiding her gaze. "mr. jones, i do really hope that this is in the past.." she continued on, in disbelief in even what she said. "of course, betty," he replied, hoping he would even break that promise. then she left the room, adjusting her ponytail to make it tighter than it ever has before. grundy, the assistant entered his office, rolling her eyes at him. "bughead, betty cooper isnt what you want, trust me," she told him setting her hands on the desk. "says who?" he replied, leaving his office in annoyance.
betty & jughead's office romance was not only scandalous, but also on borrowed time. jughead jones, a living legend in the writing community could never fall in love with a small reporter. but alas, romeo and juliet are the exception. or atleast that what they thought. betty cooper sat down at her desk, finishing up the last of her story and ready to submit it to editing. she let out a sigh, proud of her newest work. she drank up the last of her coffee, setting down her mug next to her desktop computer. "betty cooper, a straight A student, top of her class, and was apart of the school newspaper" a familiar voice read out. betty looked up to see grundy reading out from her recommendation letters, which were of course confidential. "but has had a history of mental health issues, a prime candidate for bipolar disorder, and multiple personalities disorder" she continued to read, as betty's palms ached from her nails digging into her skin. she gritted her teeth in anger and rage, getting up from her seat. "ms. grundy, that is private information, i ask of you to stop reading it out loud, please?" she told her, restraining herself from strangling her. her heart pounded, biting her bottom lip until they bled. "Oh? you ask of me? well tell me ms. betty cooper, i ask of you to tell everyone here what had happened in mr. jone's office today," grundy replied, acknowledging her with a sneer. betty started to shake in fear, looking around the office, all the eyes on her, she started to tear up. "ms. grundy, please.." she continued, hoping she would stop talking aloud her problems. her heart pounding, her vision getting hazy, she hoped that it would end. her palms aching, from the dark secrets she kept inside her, she couldnt even stand the pain at that point. "beg for me more, or are you not into that kind of thing?" ms. grundy walked up to betty, lifting her face up. and before betty could even react, she slapped her in the face. with ms. grundy's face tattooed with a red hand on her cheek, betty ran away, like she did always.
her eyes in tears, drove in the rain. her hands shaking, she drove in fear. her career might've ended, her life just ended. humility, she thought over and over again. writing was her passion, her world, and it was taken from her. she hated him for it, she hated grundy for it, she hated the world. her hair, now messed up just like her. she arrived in the parking lot, makeup smudged, her nails stained in blood, and her palms in pain. exiting the car was the most exhausting, besides the fact she was in love with jughead jones. "love" was a word she didnt want to ever experience at all, but at some point in time he smiled and holy crap she blew it. she entered the apartment, a mess in tears. a tears for him. "ronnie.." she whispered, her voice breaking from all the damage she experienced. "betty?? oh my god what happened," she raised her voice as she saw her, running to hug her. "he is was happened" her voice said, breaking apart as she continued to think about him, his smile, his eyes, and his lips. those lips took her breath away. and as time went on, he chipped little pieces of her away.
