I woke up, trying to reach for the heat of Cara's body, but my arm felt nothing but the cold mattress.
I frowned and got up slowly, because I was still a little bit tired. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and looked on my right side, only to be met with the sight of an empty mattress. Cara was nowhere to be seen.
But when I looked closer, I saw a little piece of folded paper with my name written on it laying on her pillow, with next to it one single white rose, my favourite.
My frown turned quickly into a smile and I grabbed the tiny piece of paper while I unfolded it.
Dear Y/N,
By the time you read this, you will be awake and I will be gone preparing some things. I want to take you out for a date tonight, because it is a while ago we did something with just the two of us. I will pick you up at six. There are some clothes in the bathroom and I would like it very much if you would wear them. I will see you tonight!

I smiled after I read the note and I picked up the rose. It smelled like a mix of Cara's perfume and the smell of the rose itself. It smelled amazing. I looked at the clock and saw that it was already three hour!
It was a horrible idea to binge watch American Horror story yesterday with Cara, because now I have just three hours to get ready!
I hurried downstairs to put the rose in a vase and after I was done, I walked to the bathroom.
There was a beautiful dress in the bathroom. It was blue, with just one shoulder. Beneath the dress were a pair of simple, but beautiful sandals. They must be comfortable.
I took a shower and put the dress on. It fits perfectly! I did my make up and cleaned the house a little bit.
The time flew by and before I knew it, Cara rang the doorbell. I hurried to the door, and when I opened the door, I was speechless. Cara looked beautiful. She wore a simple dark blue suit, but it showed all her curves and it went perfectly with my dress.
" You look beautiful" Cara whispered. "Did you look in the mirror?" I asked smoothly and Cara chuckled. She reached out for my hand and I intertwined our fingers together.
We smiled at each other and Cara lead us to the car. "Where are we going?" I asked. "It is a surprise. So be patient. You will notice soon enough." I pouted while Cara laughed. "I don't like surprises..." Cara laughed and kissed my cheek whitch made me blush. "You will like this one love. Believe me." I smiled at her and kissed her softly.
After a while, we arrived at our destination. Cara got out of the car and ran to my side, opening the door for me. I looked around us and I noticed that we were at the beach.
" You took me to the beach?" I asked. Cara nodded and intertwined our fingers again. "I did. I know you always wanted to see the sunset on the beach, so I made us dinner and I brought us a blanket. We can sit on the blanket on the sand while eating dinner and watching the sunset together."
I smiled and took her by surprise by kissing her. "It sounds perfect" I said after we broke apart. "You are perfect" she said while a blush made it's way onto my cheek.
We walked for 10 minutes until we found the perfect place to sit down. Cara put the blanket on the sand and we sat down. She made all my favourite food. We enjoyed our food while watching the sea and making small talk and occasionally kissing each other.
"Thank you, Cara, for doing this for me. I really appreciate it. There isn't a better girlfriend than you. I love you." I said after we were done eating and watching the sunset.
" It's my pleasure love. Only the best for you. You are there when I need you and you always listen to me. I just wanted to do something to repay you. I hope you liked today." Cara said.
Instead of answering her, I pulled her in for a kiss. It was magical with the sunset in the background and the sound of the waves crashing onto the sand.
We pulled apart and we smiled at each other. "I love you Y/N and one day I'm going to marry you." "I love you too Cara and I wouldn't want it any other way."
We looked at the sunset together, while she was spooning me from behind, occasionally planting a kiss behind my ear. I enjoyed every second with Cara. She was just perfect.
"The sunset here is beautiful" she said. "Not as beautiful as you though." I said to her while she blushed furiously.
I smiled a little when I saw I made her blush. That doesn't happen a lot. Usually she is the one who makes me blush. It is nice to know that I have this effect on her. And that she probably feels the same as I do.
I didn't realise I had been starring at her for quite a long time, until she spoke up. "You're staring." "I'm gazing" i responded fake offended. "It's creepy" she said. "No, it's romantic, Love." I answered her.
She rolled over and smiled at me, before she kissed me again. The sun was already down but the whole sky was still a beautiful shade of orange and red.
We stayed for a while on the beach, cuddled up under another blanket. It was an amazing end of an amazing day. I really am one of the luckiest persons alive.
