Christine's POV
"Yeah," Louis said, still staring at me. "The biggest shock is your eyes. Are those contacts? Because, not gonna lie... they look fit."
"Louis," Harry warned.
"What? I'm being observant."
I kept my gaze on the floor.
This was exactly why I didn't want to come.
The questions.
The staring.
The explanations.
I'd spent weeks avoiding everyone because I knew this moment would come eventually.
And I still had no idea how to explain it without sounding completely insane.
"Chrissy..." Zayn said softly. "What's wrong?"
I looked up.
Five pairs of eyes were fixed on me.
Niall's worried.
Harry's confused.
Liam's cautious.
Louis curious.
Zayn somehow dramatic for no reason.
I swallowed.
People changed all the time.
But not like this.
"Please tell us," Liam said gently. "You're acting like something happened."
Something happened.
That was one way to put it.
"I..." I started, then stopped.
My throat suddenly felt dry.
Niall stepped closer. "Chris?"
"I need to tell you something," I said quietly. "And it stays in this room."
All five of them nodded instantly.
Even Louis looked serious now.
"Alright," Harry said. "Tell us."
I inhaled deeply.
Then blurted it out.
"I think I'm a wolf."
Silence.
One second.
Two seconds.
Then—
Louis burst out laughing.
Harry nearly bent in half.
Zayn clutched the wall.
Even Liam covered his mouth.
Niall was trying not to laugh and failing miserably.
Brilliant.
Absolutely brilliant.
I crossed my arms.
"Finished?"
That made them stop.
"You're joking, right?" Louis asked.
I stared at him.
"No."
He blinked.
"Oh."
"I'm not lying," I snapped. "Do you want proof?"
He hesitated.
Then, because Louis Tomlinson had no survival instinct whatsoever, he nodded.
"Bit curious, yeah."
