Liam's Pov [Diam Payzer time!!]
I look at Danielle and I swear to God... she is the most beautiful girl I've ever met in my entire life.
And the crazy part?
She changed me.
Completely.
Everyone in this house loves her. I love her. She just fits here like she was always meant to be part of us. Sometimes I even forget she's technically "not family by blood," because she already feels like it in every possible way.
Chrissy especially... she treats Dani like an older sister figure. Or maybe even a mother sometimes. It's strange how this whole chaotic, supernatural mess somehow turned into something close to a family.
A broken one, but still... a family.
"You know, Li," Dani says softly as she leans against me in the pool, "I can't wait to give birth to our baby."
I smile immediately and pull her closer, careful with her even though she's still early along. There's something about her that makes me protective without even trying.
"Me too, babe," I say quietly.
She laughs suddenly. "Chrissy already offered to be a babysitter, you know."
I chuckle. "Of course she did."
Danielle smiles warmly. "I've always liked that girl. Even after everything she's been through... she still tries. I really do love her like a daughter sometimes."
That makes my chest feel soft in a weird way.
Chrissy has been through too much for someone her age.
Too much loss. Too much pain.
I glance at Dani. "Have you ever thought about leaving? Like... moving away from all of this?"
She goes quiet for a moment.
I can tell she's thinking seriously.
"No," she finally says. "I don't want to leave."
I raise an eyebrow. "Why?"
"This house..." she looks around slowly, "it has too many memories. Good ones. Bad ones. But they're ours. Even with everything that happened... I still want to stay."
Then she adds softly, "I already placed protection spells around it anyway. Just in case."
I blink. "You did what?"
She shrugs like it's nothing. "Witch stuff. Safety stuff."
I let out a small laugh. "Of course you did."
A silence falls between us, but it's not uncomfortable.
It feels... steady.
Like for once, nothing is about to explode.
I wrap my arms around her again gently. "You know what's funny?"
"What?" she asks.
"Our baby is probably going to be part mermaid, part wolf, part chaos," I say.
She laughs. "Sounds about right."
Then she tilts her head slightly. "Chrissy is technically the oldest sister in this whole... weird family."
I blink. "How?"
"She acts like it," Dani says. "And honestly... she kind of is. She even calls me 'Mum' sometimes."
That makes me laugh harder.
"Yeah, I can see that."
Dani smiles softly again, then leans closer and kisses my cheek.
"I love you, Li."
I hold her a little tighter.
"I love you too, Dani."
And I mean it more than anything.
"I will always love you," she whispers.
That one hits deeper than I expect.
I kiss her forehead gently.
"I know," I say. "And I'll always love you too."
For a moment, everything feels still.
Safe.
Like maybe—just maybe—we've built something strong enough to survive whatever comes next.
I look around at this house in my mind.
Ziall. Larry. Payzer. Chrissy.
All of us.
And I make a decision right there.
This isn't just a house anymore.
It's home.
And I don't care what happens...
No one is leaving.
