The final day before the Pokemon League began... I woke up ecstatic. It was almost here! It seemed that Holly had a similar thought. We both jumped out of bed at the same time. “Oh yeah!” We yelled. This woke up everybody else. Jake was so surprised that he fell from his top bunk, slamming his face into the floor.“Ahaha-ow!” Bonnie laughed. Ethan climbed out of bed, as did the others.

“Did you sleep ok?” Nelly asked, laying her hand on my shoulder.

“Yeah... It was fine.” I smiled. Holly ran straight towards the door.

“Right, I'm off!” She shouted, leaving without another word. Ethan did the same, waving as he went. They were in such a rush that they didn't even get changed the night before. But I thought they had? Either that or they got up earlier to change. For once, Jake got dressed. He yawned and walked to the door. “I need to do some training.” He moaned. Bonnie rolled her eyes and headed for the bathroom.

“You sure you're ok? You really sounded worried last night.” Nelly poked.

“Well... N-no, I'm fine. It's nothing to worry about.” I said reluctantly. It was eight o'clock in the morning, and I was glad not to have missed this day. Bonnie came out from the bathroom and leant against the main door. “I'll wait.” She said, looking at the two of us in a strange way. I shrugged and walked off to the designated bathroom, as did Nelly. Five minutes later, we were outside, having locked the door. “I'll catch up with you in a bit. I just need to do something first.” Nelly smiled.

“Ok, see you later!” I grinned. She turned on her heel and walked away. Bonnie giggled and sighed. “W-what's so funny?” I asked.

“Ha ha, nothing really. You really like her, don't you?” My Sister joked.

“S-shut it!” I stuttered, blushing and looking away.

“N'aww. Its fine. I don't mind.” Bonnie winked. I frowned and faced her again. It was only on rare occasions that Bonnie was serious, and this was one of those moments. “Toby, why did we come here?” She asked.

“To compete in the Pokemon League.” I rolled my eyes.

“No, I mean why did we come to Kanto again?” She poked.

“To... To look for Mum.” I realized.

“Yes. But instead, you've been collecting badges! Where's your focus?” Bonnie sighed. “And Professor Oak said that Team Rocket were threatening the Kanto Region with a mass flood of Pokemon. But what have we been doing? Collecting badges!” She finished.

“I... I'm sorry! How could I forget? I promise, as soon as this is over, we'll search high and low for Mum! I'm sorry...” I repeated.

“Promise all you want, but if we don't find her, I'm holding you personally responsible!” My Sister cried.

“Yes! We'll find her! I know we will!” I shouted.

“Good. That's all I wanted to hear. I'm off to go find Holly. See ya!” She chirped, running off to Victory Road. What was that? I stood in silence for a few moments, alone. When I finally snapped out of it, a shiver was sent down my spine. “Mum...” I muttered, and started to walk up the main path.

I had a transaction to make. At the moment, I only had five Pokemon, and it seemed that Mum's PokeBall wouldn't be opening any time soon. I decided to bring over a Pokemon from Unova that I had caught last year, and Professor Oak was just the man I needed to see. Just next to the main entrance was a small cabin. This was the telephone booth. It was painted red like the main building itself, with a big sign plastered on the door. I pushed the door open carefully and stepped inside. There were three other Trainers sat at desks, a small television at their faces. Those machines were telecoms, and next to the was a Pokemon transferral device. There were hundreds of empty desks to choose from, so I chose the one nearest to me. A small wooden chair was up against the table, and I pulled it out to sit on. The Telecom screen was a touch screen, numbered zero to nine on the face. What was the Professor's number though? I fuddled through my pocket and brought out a crumpled piece of paper. Aha! Just the number! I dialled in the number, muttering it back to myself as I did. “29052376...”
