Chapter 23

April 28 Toby's Birthday

Clockwork's POV********7:45am

"Ok Jane is it done yet?" I asked, she nodded "Yeah the cake is all ready, you got the waffles cooked?" She asked. "Yep and there all ready to go" I said, she smiled "You think he's gonna like it?" She asked. "Like it? He's gonna LOVE it!" I said, then I placed all of the waffles on a big plate. Yes me and Jane woke up early so we can make a chocolate cake and a BUNCH of waffles so Toby today! He's turning 18 years old I can't wait to spend time with him today, I know it's gonna be great. "Ok I think we're all done here?" I said, she nodded. "Yeah want to get the balloons, so we can blow them up?" She asked. "Yeah I'll get them" I said then walked to the plastic bag with all the party supplies. I go them a couple of days ahead but kept it a secret from Toby. I grabbed three bags of blue balloons and open them, then I stared to blow them up.

Once they were down blown up I let them go, and they stopped floating till they hit the ceiling. Then Jane and I put a long bander that said "Happy Birthday Toby!". Then we were done, "He's gonna have a great birthday!" Jane said, I nodded "So what should we do now?" I asked. She shrugged "Don't know, but I got to get ready so I'll see you soon" she said then began to walk up the stairs. "Wait Jane!" I yelled getting her attention, she turned around and looked at me. "Yeah?" She asked, "Thank you for helping me" I said. She nodded "No problem anytime" she said then went back upstairs to her room. I smiled and looked around "I hope he likes it" I said to myself. Then I went back upstairs to my room to get ready, I got a special outfit it's not anything awkward but cute.

Once I got to the room I quietly walked in so I woke wake Toby up. I grabbed the bag with the outfit inside and walked to the bathroom. Once I got in I shut the door and began to change. I began to take off my clothes and pulled out a dress it was a deep purple. That had spaghetti straps and stopped at mid thigh. I put it on and looked in the mirror, I feel like I should do something new I thought. Then I grabbed a hair tie and put my hair into a side ponytail. I looked in the mirror much better I thought, then I looked at my clock to see what time it was. 8:01am, perfect timing I thought. I grabbed the bag and went back to my room. Once I got back I put the bag back and went downstairs to grabbed the waffles I made. I got downstairs and put the waffles on a tray along with orange juice, a fork and a knife, and a small vast with a flower in it.

I carefully walked up the stairs with the tray in my hand. I signed in relief as I made it up the stairs in one piece. I push the door open with my back and walked towards the bed, I place the tray on the night stand. I looked at Toby who was still asleep, I smiled. Then bent down and kissed his forehead I ran my fingers threw his hair. "Toby? Happy birthday my love" I said in his ear, he began to wake up. "Huh?" He said, then he looked at me. "Happy birthday" I said then without giving him a warning I kissed his lips. He was shocked at first but then began to kissed back. I stopped and grabbed the tray, "Here you go your birthday breakfast!" I said. He twitch and then sat up and I put the tray on his lap. "Y-you d-didn't *twitch* h-have to d-do *twitch* this" he said, I smiled "But what if I wanted to" I said.

He blushed and smiled "I don't d-deserve y-you" he said. "You deserve me, now eat up there's a surprise waiting for you downstairs" I said. "C-can you eat w-with me" he asked, I nodded then sat on the bed. "W-where did y-you get the d-dress?" He asked, "Got it from some store a couple of days ago" I said. "Oh that's n-nice, it l-looks g-good on you" he said, I smiled "Thank you" I said. After a couple minutes of eating and talking we went downstairs. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBY!" Everyone said, Toby had a big smiled on his face. He twitch "D-did you do t-this Clocky?" He asked, I blushed "Yeah with a little bit of help" I said. He hugged me "I l-love you" he said, I hugged back "I love you too". Then he gave me a quick kissed on the lips. Then everyone stared to hang out.

We began to open presents, I gave Toby my present I got him. I handed him a small black box with blue ribbon on it. He began to open it "Cologne?" He asked, then open the cap to smell it. "S-smells nice" he said then kissed my cheek, "I knew you would like it" I said. After a couple minutes of opening gifts we dance and talked. I could tell he was having a great time, then it was time for cake. Everyone was at the table I grabbed the cake form the fridge and placed it in front of Toby. Then I placed the candles on and lit them up. We began to sing happy birthday, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TOBY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" Everyone said. Then he blew out the candles, I kissed his cheek.

After everyone ate their piece of cake, everyone hung out. I sat in the couch next to Toby, "Do you want to go see Lyra?" I asked, "Y-yeah if y-you don't m-mind" he said. "Of course I don't mind at all" I said, then we told Slender that we were gonna take a walk. After we told him we began to walk to the cemetery, before we enter we checked if Connie was there. She wasn't, we walked towards Lyra's grave there was a present with a letter and balloon attach to it. "Your mom was here today huh?" I said, he nodded then picked it up and began to open it. "What's inside?" I asked, he pulled out a set of UNO cards? "UNO cards?" I asked, he nodded "You s-see when it w-was my b-birthday. Me a-and Lyra would a-always play UNO. Of c-course I'll a-aways win" he said. I smiled "What does the card say?" I asked, he open the envelope and pulled out a blue card. He began to read it.

Happy birthday baby, your 18 now your so old. I remember the day you were born it felt like it was yesterday. I hope you're having a great birthday today. I miss you, and your aunt saids happy birthday also.

He smiled "T-thanks mom, l-love you too" he said. I hugged him "Come on let's go back and play UNO!" I said. He nodded then we stared to head back to the mansion. Once we got back we went upstairs into our room and stared to play. After a couple of minutes Toby won the first round. "I won! T-told y-you I a-always win!" He said. I threw the cards at him "What! How do you-I...HOW!" I yelled, he began to laugh. "G-guess I'm t-the master o-of it" he said, I smiled then looked at the time. It was 11:56pm, "Geez how long have we been out for?" I asked, he shrugged. "Don't k-know, but C-Clocky" he said. I look at him "Yes" I responded. He twitch "T-thank you for t-today, I h-haven't had a -good b-birthday in y-years" he said. I smiled "Anytime babe" I said, "L-look let's g-go to bed I'm t-tired" he said then yawn. I giggled "Yeah I can tell, but I am also" I said, the grabbed all the cards and put them back into the box.

I placed them on the dresser, then took my hair out. I grabbed some pajamas then took off my dress and bra. The put in my pajamas, I went over by the bed and sat down. I looked at Toby he was still changing. "I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday today" I said. Once he was done putting his shirt on he sat next to me, and kissed my cheek. "I r-really like it I c-can't thank you e-enough" he said. Then we both laid down, he pulled me closer to him. "I love you" I said, "L-love y-you *twitch* to" he said. I'm glad he had a great birthday today, I had to return the favor somehow. But I hope he's ok, knowing that this is his first birthday without his mom. I think she gave him good birthdays. I began to feel sleepy, then I fell asleep.
