I nudged Micah, who was here because he knew shit. We know Percy and Luke and my mom had to be here anyways.

When I saw Nico di Angelo, I assumed he was here for Percy. Because Percy's in the hospital, he can't make it.

Yeah uh... No.

And Mom doesn't... Well nobody knew about Percy until we found out he was in the hospital. And we don't know what the problems even are. Nico and Blowfish won't tell us.

The case was commenced. And like half way through, the final, and most recent, case was brought up.

Perseus Jackson. The child of Sally Jackson and Poseidon.

Call to the stand, a third party eye witness. Nico di Angelo.

The son of freaking Hades.

Anyways, they asked about how aware Nico was of Percy's depressive state and if he had anticipated any of this to happen.

"100%, yes."

And that was it. The room was silent. Because his dad totally denied it. His mom was aware, but didn't anticipate he'd drop that low. His step dad said the same thing. His brother (I didn't know he had one) couldn't say much as he wasn't aware of anything until his dad came home all pissed off because Percy was in the hospital over something stupid.

That's Poseidon, apparently. Pretty shitty dad, there.

So nobody had said that they 100% knew this was going to happen. That Percy was going to try to kill himself.

"And you did nothing to stop this?" My mom asked, knowing that didn't sound right.

"No, I did." Nico elaborated. "The first incident I was involved in, at camp, I removed all forms of blades, ropes, and did control his medicine intake for a few weeks until he was a little more stable. I brought the situation to Chiron and Mr. D. They brought it to Poseidon, and Poseidon advised Percy to go home."

He took in a breath.

"The second time wasn't quite as up front as the first." Percys boyfriend of who knows how long explains. "He had been going in and out of a 'slump' as Percy calls it. But he had been eating, taking his meds, going to therapy, he had no way to secretly cut, and no way to tie a noose. And what had happened was that he got accepted into college and the four of us went out for dinner."

He stopped again, glancing between Percy's family, his dad, and Percy's dad.

"When we got back, my father and Poseidon were at the apartment." Nico brought up the situation that the other four had all brought up. This was like 3 days ago. "Percy and Poseidon had gotten into an argument. What it was about, I'm not aware. I was talking with my dad at the time. But the argument got heated, Percy became upset, and went to his room. He slammed the door in Poseidon's face. Everyone shut up. I went to go pick the lock, as he has a tendency to act upon thoughts when upset. And with how he had been lately, I didn't want to take chances."

The room somehow got even quieter. I really didn't think it was possible, but I was proved wrong.

"My dad insisted that he seemed to want to be alone, and thus should let him be." The son of Hades started to finish off. "I explained Percy's situation with his depression and anxiety. Letting him be alone when he gets harsh like that can be risky. And it was. It took between two and three minutes to get the lock picked and he was in there, going insane. He was trying to talk me into letting him kill himself despite not having to do it with. We brought him into the hospital, he had managed to scratch away at his arms and lose a bit of blood. Then there was the transfusion and we were told he had to stay at the hospital for three days. Poseidon was put in charge for paying the bills as he was the one who brought this on."

Okay, with the witness story out of the way, it was general questions. Just things to know so a jury won't misrule this. And the jury was a bunch of parents who hadn't ever met the people on this lawsuit.

"Alright," Mom said as she finished jotting down something. "And a series of questions as you seemed to know the most so far. Was Percy diagnosed with depression before meeting Poseidon or coming to Camp Half-Blood?"

"Yes."

"Did he have suicidal tendencies before Camp Half-Blood?"

"Yes, although they were less common than they are now."

"Has Percy ever told you of any instances before camp where he tried to kill himself?"

"Yes."

"Please describe this event."

Nico sighed.

"I don't know how old he was," the demigod told my mother and the court room. Almost hesitant. "There was a few of them. But the first one he told me about... Again, he didn't say an age. His mom hadn't been home, she was working. His step dad of the time, who I only know to be called Gabe, was home. According to Percy he was a shitty person in general and a worse step father. On multiple occasions, if Sally wasn't home, Gabe would make Percy do some weird, gross things and he would tell him some things. I don't know any things that Percy was forced to do, he wouldn't say. But Gabe often told Percy that he should kill himself. And Percy was younger, suicide was a new concept and be tried. But he passed out, woke up the next morning, and never told anyone what had happened until almost 10 years later."

Again, writing something down, it was silent as we waited on my mom to continue this. And I don't think Sally knew about what happened between Gabe and Percy, because she suddenly looked a lot more worried.

"Do you believe that anything happened to Percy, before camp, unrelated to his father," Mom started. "That would anticipate depression or anxiety?"

"I, uh..." Nico started and looked at Sally. He almost looked like he felt bad for her. "Yes. There were things that happened to him that I believe could've anticipated depression."
