Nico

That's one way to change the subject.

"Me?" I asked and he nodded his head. Which, I assume, he must not talk about his anxiety that much. That or it's because he doesn't have his meds at the moment. "Um, I'll eat anything. In regards to pizza, at least. Thai makes me sick. But I'm good with whatever."

The waitress came over and took our order, and we got a medium pepperoni pizza. It was simple, and you can never go wrong with pepperoni.

But I'm just saying, his smile is the purest thing I've ever seen. And not like the smile he normally has, I'm talking like his genuine smile. It was the purest thing.

He would like look away or cover his mouth every time he did it, though. And that annoyed the crap out of me because he had such a nice smile. Usually if he looked away, he looked down.

And I hated it. He has a nice smile.

I saw it once. We had been eating and it was smaller, but it was there. It must be a subconscious thing. Why, there must be a reason. Deep in his soul.

Anyways, I paid for lunch and we both left a tip before starting to walk back to Percy's place.

And yeah, we kind of held hands most of the way there. We had to cross the street and I know he has a little sister, but I don't know if she's walking yet. So it's either habit that he did it because of her, or he was trying to be smooth and it worked.

Either way, we held hands until we got to the building complex. Which was something I almost did with Will because he's a doctor and he was very paranoid about germs and stuff and thus we just about never held hands. And I didn't care that much. It just made this a bigger deal to me.

I don't know. Will was a lot more about the smutty stuff. He tried having sex with me a lot. But I'm still not about that, like it can wait. He tried to give me a handjob once before bed and I left the cabin.

If Percy tries anything tonight, I will go back to camp.

But anyways, when we got back, Paul was asleep and so was Sally. Probably because Tenaya, their daughter, was also sleep.

"Where do you want to sleep?" Percy asked me. "We don't have a spare room anymore. Tenaya took it."

"Um," I didn't realize I'd be asked this. "I don't know. Are your parents up early in the morning?"

Percy nodded his head.

"Paul is," he assured me. "He still had to work and what not. Summer school and planning for next year and stuff. He's normally up at like 5:30, 6. Mom is up around 9 because Tenaya normally gets up to stay up at 9:30."

"Got it." I remarked. "I think I'll sleep in your room, then. I'm a light sleeper and I'm not getting up at 6 in the morning."

"Seems legit."

We brought my stuff to his room and then he didn't something I really wasn't expecting.

"Okay," he told me. "So I'm going to go take a shower and what not before going to the pharmacy to refill my meds, alright? You can just make yourself comfy and unpack, whatever you want. If you want to come with to the pharmacy, which, I don't know why would would, but you can. I'll be ready in like 20 minutes. Sound good?"

"Yeah!" I responded. "Sounds perfect."

"Alright," he remarked and the proceeded to kiss my fucking forehead. "I'll be back in a little bit."

I. Fucking. Melted.

When he got into the bathroom and I was able to hear the shower, I closed the door and had a mini heart attack. Which is when I realized I had a text from Jason asking about the date. If it turned out like an actual date, and not just calling it that so it wasn't confusing.

So I called him and had him make sure I wasn't on speaker phone and what not. Percy didn't want to be out to everyone, so I'm not outing him. Jason sort of overheard Grover and Percy a while ago, Percy knows that Jason knows. Jason is good at keeping those sort of secrets.

"So?" Jason asked me. "Was it a date?"

"It was, and I'm vulnerable now." I told the son of Jupiter. "Everything came naturally to him. Everything but the actual date, that was."

"Everything?" He sounded confused because I didn't tell him it was Percy that I was going on the date with. I just said Percy was letting me stay here. "Like what?"

"Like holding hands and what not." I tried to explain. "At first I thought he was treating me like I was 5, grabbing my hand walking across the street. We held hands most of the mile and a half walk back to his place."

This is where the misunderstanding came into play. The part that Jason doesn't know who this guy is. Nobody our Grover does because Percy told him I sort of kind of asked him out yesterday.

"Aw, you walked him home?" The son of Jupiter asked me. "That's sweet, man. Are you still at his place?"

"Wha— yeah," I told him. "I'm staying at his place. We planned that before I suggested lunch and everything. So of course I'm still here."

That confused him.

"I thought you said you were staying at Percy's place."

"Yeah, I did."

"Did that change or something?"

"No. I'm here at his apartment. Literally sitting on his bed as we speak."

And then it clicked in his mind and he let out a gasp loud enough for the entire fucking camp to probably hear.

But he was smart and thought before opening his mouth.

"You didn't tell me you were going out with Percy." The son of Jupiter insisted. "My gods, if I would've known that—"

"The only reason I'm telling you who it is is because you know about Percy," I explained to him. "You can't go off telling everyone about it, Jason. Okay? He would lose his head. I don't know why it's a big deal to him after I came out and will and everyone else. But it is. You can't tell Piper. You know she can't keep secrets about that kind of stuff. Tell her the date went good and all, but you can't tell her who it was with. Just stick with the story of it's an old friend from the mortal world."

"Okay, okay," he promised me he'd keep his mouth shut. "I won't say anything. But you have to tell.me everything first."
