Patrick

"No," I'm still a sarcastic shit head. "You're seeing triple. She's just a girl."

Ignoring what just came out of my mouth, Percy told these three people something or another that my ADHD didn't want to listen to before he told us to follow him.

Percy explained to us something I had always joked around with for years. That the Greek gods were real. And Roman. And Egyptian. And basically everything. But our dad was Poseidon. Greek god of the seas. And that entire conversation was sort of a weird bomb dropped onto us.

Apparently Dad planned on picking just the two of us up. Which wasn't a big deal, it kind of made sense. But suddenly I uh... While we were waiting, I ran into my girlfriend.

We went to high school together, that's how I met Clarisse. Clarisse La Rue. Like me, her dad wasn't around. We bonded over that and then if aS this that and the other thing until we started going out about... Two years ago. A year a half. Going on two years. Her ex was kind of... Chris was nice at first. But it didn't work. And now that I'm going to Phoenix, too, it'll be amazing. It's January, were on break now. And she didn't tell me she'd be in New York for a couple weeks.

But I didn't think I'd run into her. Paige was talking with some blond girl our age, and Percy was talking with some guy about our age. But this was...

"What are you doing here?"  Clarisse asked me after sharing a kiss. I love her to death, I do. "I thought you were staying down in Arizona for the month."

"Yeah, I was." I explained. "But I got a call yesterday and it was weird and now I'm here with my brother and sister about to meet my dad for the first time."

It took her a minute to think that over.

"You're here with... You went home?"

I nodded my headed.

"By accident, granted." I told her, not sure how else to explain it. "Apparently my step dad isn't around anymore. He died. My mom got remarried and had another kid. But I haven't seen them yet. Just my brother and sister."

"Didn't your sister kill herself?"

"Yeah, I was confused, too."

Clarisse looked around for a moment, thinking about something or another with her cute little thing face.

I don't know why I call her cute and adorable so much. She could break me with one move.

But she's also my cute little potato.

"Who are you here with?" She asked me, returning her attention back to me.

"Percy and Paige." I answered her question, first pointing out Paige. "Paige is talking with the blond. And Percy is... What is he doing?"

I pointed at my brother and some dude he was talking to. The guy wasn't half bad as of looks granted. But Percy was... I couldn't tell if they were holding hands or not.

"Oh, I know Percy!" Clarisse assured me. "He's been coming here for a while. I met him the summer after I met you. He never said anything about having siblings. But he's talking to Nico. I'm assuming he just hasn't gotten around to telling you guys. Him and Nico have been dating for... Almost 8 months. 7, 8 months. Super sweet together."

Oh my gods...

I looked at them for a moment, and she was right. They seemed really sweet together. Percy seemed a lot happier than I had ever known him to be. And they were holding hands, I figured it out. But then it clicked.

My brother's gay.

I fucking... I knew he wasn't into girls. I just never thought far enough ahead that he'd be into guys.

After someone yelled after her, Clarisse told me she had to run off. But she'd call me later and what not.

A few minutes later, Paige walked back over to me and asked what I was thinking about.

"Percy," I explained to her. "Did you ever think his love life was weird?"

My sister shrugged.

"I don't know," she told me. "I mean, I felt bad for him. No matter where Mom sent us kids picked on him and he never had friends outside of us. I know he had a few crushes 4th and 5th grade. But we were kids, Patrick. He never told us who they were. He always told us it was stupid, back when he had no confidence whatsoever. So yeah, I don't know."

I tried to change my wording.

"No, not like that." I corrected myself. "I mean with who he liked. Because it wasn't that hard to tell. He stared. He was nicer to them. He was quieter around them."

"Oh, yeah," she recalled. "A lot of guys. What about it?"

"Somebody just told me he's gay." I told my sister and motioned to our brother. "The dude he's standing with is his boyfriend of like 7 or 8 months. Name is Nico."

"Oh," she remarked. "That's uh... Sweet."

Percy

"Am I getting kicked out now?" Nico asked me after hearing the news about Paige and Patrick and I rolled my eyes.

"No," I promised him. "we share a bed as it is. And I graduate in a few months, so it's just a few months until we move out. And that's assuming they don't want to stay here or something. They'll decide after meeting dad and Paul, I'm assuming. But no, you're not getting kicked out."

"Okay, good." My boyfriend remarked. "Are you not going with to see your dad?"

I shook my head and explained to him that I normally would. But my dad had wanted to talk to just them just because he hasn't met them before. Stuff like that just over lunch.

"So," I added on to it. "They'll be gone for a few hours  if you wanted to maybe go out and do something."

Nico rolled his eyes and laughed a small, adorable little laugh. Just enough to show he was honored. It made me smile. .

"I'd love to," Nico accepted my invitation to go out on a date. "It was a lonely week, you know. Being away from your cuddles and amazing bed."

"Yeah," I agreed to that. "Well maybe we can go out for lunch and just have a food coma on the couch, then. How does that sound?"

"Like heaven."
