Poseidon

I'm a cheesy bastard and stopped to get her a blue rose on the way. But when I got there I could see she was making dinner through the window. Looked a little lonely, which pained me. She didn't have Susan for the weekend. So she would be completely alone had I not come.

I knocked on the door and after a minute she walked over and opened the door. For some reason, not expecting me.

"Poseidon, you didn't..." She seemed flattered either way, though. "You didn't have to come tonight."

"What else was I supposed to do?" I asked her. "Pack and then just sit at home the rest of the night? But just in case you felt bad I even made a pit stop on my way. For you."

I held out the rose, and she did take it. Giving it a small smell.

"It's beautiful, thank you." Sally assured me, which made me relieved that she liked the rose. "Come on, I was just about to make some popcorn for a movie."

I smiled.

"Any time."

For once I felt like I was young again. Not thousands of years old. I felt like a guy who was young and had a chance at life. And I never feel like that. Maybe once or twice. I don't know how everyone could manage living like this for their entire lives. Knowing they'd die in the next 100 years. That their life was fragile.

Things terrify me now. I never used to be really afraid of anything in concerns to my life. Now I'm always on my toes with stuff.

But like, I relaxed for the first time basically since I've stopped being a god. And it just felt so nice and I wanted that feeling all the time.

I wasn't planning on anything to happen during this movie. We're in the bedroom with popcorn and once it was gone, it wasn't a big deal. But towards the end of the movie I was tired and laid down. I moved towards Sally a little bit, but that was so I wouldn't fall off the bed and she was warm. I was cold.

Well, given five minutes of me laying there, Sally was in bed. And I didn't expect her to stay in the same room and bed. She had gotten up to turn off the TV and everything. I expected her to just leave the room after that and sleep in the next room over or something.

Not to crawl back into bed with me. And when I felt her back in bed, my eyes opened up, confused. I was facing away from her side so she wouldn't know. And I was thinking the whole no cuddling no nothing. This is sleeping and sleeping only.

That was not Sally's idea. She's observant and she noticed that I moved towards her earlier.

Thus I became the little spoon.

And then Sally judtb knows that I'm already bound to be flustered and gives me a kiss sort of by my ear and cheek jaw area. Kind of below my ear.

"Goodnight," she whispered, sending chills down my spine. Before pulling me a tiny bit before and placing her head by my shoulder and keeping it there to sleep.

I smiled to myself.

She still likes me.

I slept good that night. When I woke up, Sally had still been there which was a nice reassurement. Still holding me like I'd escape in the middle of the night.

Not wanting to wake her up, I stayed where I was and just looked out the window for a few minutes. It looked nice outside. A good day to go swimming.

After a few minutes, though, I heard a groan out of her and moved my head back to see if she had woken up. And she did. Didn't look so sure about it at first, though. I scared her, though.

"My gods, you're awake." Sally remarked after noticing my eyes were open and I was indeed awake. "How long have you been up? You didn't have to stay in bed."

"Uh..." I looked at the clock and back at Sally. "3 minutes. Give or take a minute."

"Oh,okay." She said, nodding her head. "What do you want for breakfast?"

I shrugged.

"I didn't bring food." I was honest. "What do you have with you?"

Sally thought about that before telling me she didn't even know what she had with her for breakfast.

So we both got out of bed and that's when I realized that she must've changed before going to bed last night. She was in pajamas. Like a long shirt sort of nightgown thing that was just cute on her.

We ended up pancakes and I was about to put them on the stove. But nope. Sally insisted the batter wasn't done.

"What are we missing?" I asked her, because we even had chocolate chips in them. We had everything.

Sally pulled out blue food dye, and put a few drops in. Which made it a really nice color, just saying.

But yes, we are blue pancakes for breakfast. They were really good and seemed oddly familiar despite never having Sally's pancakes before.

After breakfast we both changed into our swimsuits and headed to the water. It was nice out, like I had assumed earlier. Sunny, but it's not ungodly hot out quite yet. The water was cold, of course. It's the ocean. It's always going to be cold.

But once you got used to it, it wasn't that bad. We must've swam for a good few hours before getting out of the water. It wasn't quite lunch time, but we headed back to the cabin to wash off the sand and what not. I didn't even realize the messages I had until Sally had gotten into the shower and I was left with nothing to do.

Seeing Hades had spammed me, I called him.

"It took you long enough!" Was his reaction to my call, and I rolled my eyes. "I've been texting you all day. How's it going so far?"

"Chill," I told him. "I was at the beach, in the water. It's been really good, though. Were taking showers before lunch, though."

I didn't realize how bad that sounded until it came out of my mouth.

"You guys are showering together?" He sounded... He sounded like he didn't need to know that.

"What? No!" I assured him, correcting my statement. "Sorry. She's taking one right now and then I'm taking one and then we're having lunch. That sounded worse than it is."

He thought about that.

"Yeah, it did." He agreed with that. "Have you guys told Percy? Or Tyson? Or anyone else? Because Percy and Nico are in the other room right now, with Persephone. Making lunch."

"Oh," I remarked and figured I was screwed if they overheard this. "Yeah, I don't think they know anything. I never said anything and I doubt Sally has. But um... Yeah, I don't know what they know. I haven't gotten a call or text from Percy about anything. I'm going to jump in the shower, though. I'll call you later."
