Three Days Until the Wedding

"Having a bachelorette party the week of the wedding is not only cliche, but predictable." Carla scolded Gabi

"Well, you wouldn't let us have it any other day so, we had to improvise." Gabi shot back

"I was hoping that it would defer you from taking Drew out before the single most important day of her life." Carla said

"I mean the birth of my kid might be important." I said but neither of the two were listening

"Mom, you're always trying to be in control of things. It's not even your wedding."

"I do not. And I am aware that it is not my wedding, but it is the wedding of the century. We have nearly three hundred people arriving to see Drew in that beautiful dress and I do not want them to witness all of you hungover or worse."

"Wait. Three hundred people? When did it become three hundred?" I asked her

"It's two hundred and sixty." she shrugged

"It was not supposed to be that many. You said everyone wasn't going to RSVP."

"We were wrong. Besides, we can't control what people want to do." Gabi said

I became nervous. I hadn't met all of Giovanni's family and the fact that they all came, was a bit overwhelming.

"Drew, what do you want to do?" Carla asked me

Just when I was about to open my mouth, Giovanni announced his presence.

"I hope you're not discussing cold feet." he actually had a worried look on his face

I don't know if it was for show or if he truly forgot that we were already married. I held my hand out to him and he smoothly glided across the room to hold it.

"Can we talk?" I asked him, I looked toward his mother and sister, "Alone."

They promptly left the room, but I knew that they were close enough to eavesdrop. Carla and Francesco's home was huge, but I'm pretty sure that she knew all the spots where conversations could be heard.

"What's wrong?" he asked nervously

"Don't worry, I'm not getting cold feet." I smiled

"Okay, well, what's the matter?"

"We're discussing a bachelorette party."

I watched as his face transitioned from anxiousness to sternness.

"Mhm hm. And what exactly about this bachelorette party have you been discussing?" He asked crossing his arms

"When we should have it. I just wanted to know what you guys had planned."

"I don't have anything planned."

"Okay, so I should talk to Daunte, because I'm pretty sure he does." I laughed

"I'm not sure, but I told them that we were not doing anything the night before. I don't want to chance it."

"Mhmm. Okay, sounds smart." I nodded

"You're not against this?" he asked

"Why would I be? It's a tradition." I shrugged

"Whose?"

"I don't know. America's." I laughed

"Well, I have rules for you."

"Rules? Huh. This should be interesting." I said crossing my arms
