Hermione tightened her grip on her wand, following the mysterious wizard down the halls of hagwarts. She extended it, then whispered "Silentium" to silence her, and Draco's moments to make it so they could speak freely without being heard.
"What's the Plan Granger?" Draco asked as he hestently followed behind Hermione, her reddish brown hair bounced with each careful step she took. He looked behind him, debating turning in the opposite deraction.
"Plan?" Hermione didn't have a plan. Usually the trio were somewhat prepared for whatever it was they were facing, but at this moment she were blank. Who was this person they were following? Why were they sneaking about in the halls? How did they come to be at Hagwarts? No one can sneak in, it's impossible! Or so she thought. "Not now Malfoy, I am trying to concentrate!" She complained.
The mysterious Wizard came to a dead stop at the end of a hallway. Hermione instinctively pulled Draco down beside a large potted plant to watch his actions, but not to be seen. "There is nowhere else for him to go," Hermione spoke, obviously confused.
Draco smiled. "I got him," he said as he was about to stand up, in plan view of the unidentified Wizard. Draco wanted full credit for capturing the misdoer. He himself would bring the wizard to Professor McGonagall, and that would surly put him back into her good graces.
"Malfoy!" She yelled in a hushed voice, as she tugged the Blonde back down. For such a slender girl she had enormous strength, which sent him tumbling back down next to her.
"Let's just wait, and see." She demanded as she glared into his abnormally blue eyes. "Have it your way Granger,"
She peeked her head out from behind the potted plant, and Draco reluctantly followed her actions.
The wizard pulled out his wand, golden brown, and twisted all the way to the top, much like a goat horn. It was none like either of them had seen before, which made Hermione ever the more nervous. The wizard said a simple charm that the pair couldn't make out from a distance. Hermione gasped as the bricks from the wall began sliding into themselves, making a pathway into a unknown room. The wizard then disappeared inside.
Hermione hesitantly stood, and walked towards the bricks that were now beginning to close behind the Wizard.
"Are you mad?" Draco asked from behind her. Hermione ignored him, as she knew him to be a coward, and always had been. She stepped through the closing Bricks and braced herself for a battle.
"We don't know what he is capable of you idot!" He cursed, Still from behind the potted plant.
The room she had stepped into was dim, and the air smelled of dust. It were also colder somehow, nevertheless It was clear to her that the hiddin room had been untouched for decades. She saw the shadow of a man, he hovered over what looked like to be a potion pot. She couldn't help but take in the movie like scene that she had witnessed on cheap, muggle made, student films.
The wizard began a sacred enchantment, one which was very old. She mentally scolded herself because she hadn't heard it before. This shocked Hermione because she took great Pride in knowing practicality all of which the magic world had to offer, even if she wasn't a powerful enough wizard herself to use such charms.
Hermione could feel the evil in the air. Every breath now tested bitter, unnatural even. She decided that he was up to no small task, and whatever he was trying to preform was ground breaking.
"Stop!" She yelled after she took away the silencing spell she had placed on herself. She then carefully moved towards the Wizard with her wand hand extended. The room was far to Dim For Hermione to make out the what appeared to be male features of the wizard.
The misdoer let out the most evil laugh imaginable to Hermione, evil radiating off of him. "Hermione Granger," The wizard hissed knowing, as he still concentrated at his task at hand. "Where is the famous one?" He mocked her, as if he could see through her, down to her deepest and darkest insecurities. "Harry potter," he clarified. "Now that would have been a challenge."
Hermione lifted her wand with fury, sending a bolt of lighting his way without a second thought. With a wave of his wand he flung it back to her at such speed that she barely ducked from it.
Draco heard a large Crash from inside the room as the bricks had almost completely shut. "Mirlin!" He cursed as he stood up from behind the potted plant. Were it really his problem? He thought as another loud crash rang in his ears. The mud blood was going to get herself killed, he concluded. Did he really want to deal with the wrath of perfect Potter, and dimwitted Weasley? all year? Definitely not!
He sucked in a deep breath as he squeeze himself between the last shutting bricks, pushing himself inside the room. His attention now shot to the scene unfolding in front of him.
Hermione sent ice Blue fire orbs repeatedly at the wizard with Such angered, fury in every swing, He doubted that she would even need her wand.
The wizard ducked them with ease, as he sent them back with twice the speed.
"Baubillious!" Hermione hurled yet another charm his way in hopes of harming him enough to disarm him. He didn't brake, Instead he sent a series of charms her way. one of them sent her flying across the room, crashing into a wooden, read oak trimmed desk
"Apparate!" Draco commanded, then appeared right behind the wizard. "Everte Statum!!" He hissed his favorite charm angrily. The same charm that he used on Harry when they duled in front of the whole class first year. Much like Harry, The unexpecting wizard hadn't had the time to block the attack which caused him to crash roughly against the brick wall behind him.
Draco ran to Hermione who was twisted on the floor. Her uniformed shirt was torn at the stomach, reviling a large slash which was viciously gushing blood out of it. The last time he had seen her in such Agony was during the war, when she was being tortured by Bellatrix. He pointed his wand down at her, and for the slightest of moments she looked truly petrified at what he might do. "Brackium Emendo." He spoke the healing charm that he had never once performed on an actual living person. To his surprise she healed instantly.
The sound of rapidly boiling water filled the small, dim room. Hermione and Draco glanced to notice that the pot of potions the wizard had previously been enchanting begun to boil over and spill onto the floor. A hazel mist filled the room as the wizard pushed himself up off the floor in victory. "Poor children, fighting a losing battle." His attention now fixed on Draco. "Such a disappointment." He hissed.
"Lacrasdna!" Hermione managed the charm from the cold floor she laid on. Her wand now aimed at the pot in hopes to disenchant it.
"No!" The wizard screamed as she sent the pot flying. All of its ingredients poring over her, and Draco in a cool hazel mist.
The room around the pair started to spin. "What have you done!" She heard the wized speak angrily, then suddenly they disappeared.
