Hermione glanced around in confusion, as they now stood in the outskirts of Hogwarts, "the forbidden Forrest no doubt." Hermione concluded as she looked up at the abnormally large Trees.
She remembered in her studys that the trees in this particular forest were considered ancient. She now noticed they looked dense, and rough from years of exposure to the elements. How Hagwarts used this place as punishment for detantion she never understood. Hermione turned suddenly to notice that Draco was next to her, and somehow traveled with her. He did his best to steady himself, then dust his uniform off, even though to Hermione, it wasn't visibly dirty.
Draco looked around in surprise as he noticed it were now night. Hadn't he just entered his last class for this afternoon before professor McGonagall had rudely pulled him out of it? Had so much time passed that it were now nightfall and he had just failed to notice? He decided that it must have been the case.
Hermione gulped nervously as she realized that she had most likely failed at stopping whatever the wizard attempted on doing before he transported them to the edge of the forest.
"What have you done, Granger!" Draco stated in annoyance as he scanned the Forrest. He blamed her for the long walk they would obviously have to make back to the school. He watched her eyes glow ember with anger as she glared up at him.
"What did I do?" She imitated him, then rolled her eyes. It were just like Malfoy to blame others when put in a situation that didn't "suit" him. She looked up to the havens and wondered what she had possibly done to be punished with his presence.
"Always the Hero," He stated, but not as a compliment. No, He said it as if it were a virus that he dared not to Catch. He didn't understand her endless pursuit, her constant righteous battle that never seemed to end, and now she had dragged him into it! He let out a frustrated breath as he relaxed his shoulders. He knew he were mental. Obviously it were of his own choices to follow Hermione, and the Wizard, but he didn't like the outcome, and were now stuck in the middle of the forbidden Forest with the last person he would want to be with on earth! So who better to blame then Granger?
Hermione did he best to ignore Draco as she tied back her wild curls with a band she had around her wrist. She focused her attention on the forest as she tired to imagine what part of it she might be in, but couldn't. To her it all looked the same, especially at night. "I don't recognize.." She started to say but Suddenly Draco was behind her with one hand wrapped around her waist, the other brought up to cover her mouth.
He breathed in her familiar sent of lavender as she panicked, and tried to wiggle her way out of his grasp. As strong of a wizard that she was, she were obviously outmatched by his physical strength. She were about to bite the inside of his hand when he brought his lips down to her ear. "Easy Granger, we are not alone." He whispered as he released her. She turned around to face him wide eyed as he held his index finger to his lips in a motion to be silent. She followed his gaze to see a strange cloaked figure walking through the woods. It were a good distance away, but still close enough to be seen, or heard if not careful.
The figure was designed in a long black cloak, it's body fragile and weak as it struggled with each step. Even in its weak state the pair struggled to find breath as it walked by. Its ora, and purpose somehow screamed death, and destruction.
The strongest sense of dajivo washed over Draco. He couldn't explain it, but it was undeniable. They both let out a tense breath as the figure disappeared feather into the Forrest. "We better get back," Hermione stated as she fought the chills that previously escaped her. "The Forrest isn't safe."
It were as if her voice had jerked him back from a trance. The cloaked creature that seemed to float across the woods had frightened him more then he would ever let on to Granger.
Draco looked at her as if she were made out of pure stupidity. "Quite perspective aren't we." He mocked.
If glares could kill, Hermione would have slayen Draco on spot in first year. However this particular glare was one that could vanquish even the most deadliest of challengers.
Suddenly the pair heard the russling of leaves. Someone else was coming there way! Much to Draco's discomfort, Hermiones first instinct was to grab a confused and much angered Draco, and pull him Behind a large Forrest tree. His back was fearmly pressed against the bark as she faced him, glancing around him and to the aproching sounds.
Voices of young children talking to one another became apparent as they did their best to stay hidden. "They are just kids" Hermione spoke in disbelief as two small children came into view. He tried to turn so he could see for himself, but she held his shoulders firmly, afraid of being seen.
"What are they doing in the forbidden Forrest!?" He whispered once he had given up and now relied on her eyes to tell him what was happening.
Hermione pondered on his words for a moment, As she watched the boys walk together from a distance, though they were coming closer. Could they possibly be involved with the creature they had just witnessed? She thought. If not, the children were definitely in danger, along with herself and Malfoy.
"Wait 'til my father hears about this!" She watched one complain to the other.
It were obvious to Hermione that the young child were definitely a snobby brat, and do to his complaining he must have been placed here on detention.
"This is servant's stuff!" The boy finished in a huff as Draco's stomach dropped at the sudden realization of familiarity. It wasn't dajivo he were experiencing, but a long forgotten memory.
"What is it?" Hermione asked as she felt his body tense and his breathing stop. His already white skin turned almost ghost like. "It can't be.." Draco whispered in awe. Draco removed himself from Hermiones hold with a gentle, but strong determination as he himself piered out from behind the large ancient tree.
Before he had a chance to explain the situation to her the other child spoke.
"If I didn't know any better Malfoy, I'd say you were scared." The second boy, who Draco now knew to be a young Potter spoke through amusement.
Hermiones gaw dropped as she looked up at Draco in realization. "Malfoy?" She asked in astonishment as she looked over the children once again. One was Platinum blonde, and slightly taller then the other who had thick black hair, and a now visible scar on his forehead. "Merlin!" Hermione cursed as she felt the odd sensation of traveling through time once again.
"First year," Draco recalled. "Detention" he spoke as he watched Hagrids dog led the boys through the woods.
Hermione starred in amazement at a young Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy walking through the woods together. So youthful, and innocent. Who would've known what the next year's had store for them. "I'm not scared, Potter!" The young Malfoy spat defensively.
Draco watched his memory unfold just as it happened all those years ago. He couldn't believe how small the young Harry, and past Draco were. For some reason he had never thought of himself as a child, neither did he Harry, but there they were. Two adolescent wizards, roaming forbidden Forrest alone, together.
A howling noise filled the woods as Hermione tensed. Unlike Draco, she hadn't experienced this before. "It's alright," Draco said, not taking his eyes of of the small version of himself. "You and Hagrid are not far behind." He remembered.
The small, Platinum blonde Draco quivered in fear."Did you hear that?" He asked as he looked around in paranoid fright.
Hermione let out a small chuckle at the sight of the scared, but arrogant child. He was so tiny, and fearful, but felt the need to act like nothing fazed him. She smirked up at Draco. 'He hasn't changed much' she thought
The small Harry rolled his eyes as he called for Hagrids dog to follow along.
"We have to leave," the present Draco realized. The clocked frail figure that the boys were about to stumble up on was none other then the legendary Lord Voldemort.~~~
