"She's going to love this, Mila," Lucy says as she helps Camila decorate her backyard. Camila had to beg for her parents to take Sofi out tonight so she'd have the house to herself. Lucy drove Camila around town to get everything that she needed.
"Thank you for helping me, Luce," Camila says gratefully as they finish up Lauren's surprise. They walk into the house and both lay onto the couch, exhausted from working for the past hour.
"You think she forgot the anniversary? I mean you didn't say anything this morning because of this, but she didn't have a reason not to," Lucy ask making Camila wonder.
"Maybe, but I wouldn't be hurt if she had. She's got a lot on her mind right now and I would totally understand it," Camila explains. Camila knew Lauren wouldn't purposely forget their anniversary.
"Well you're a lot more understanding than I would be, Vero would be in big trouble if she forgot our anniversary," Lucy tells her. Before Camila could respond the doorbell rings, signaling her girlfriend's arrival.
"I'll let her in when I leave," Lucy announces, giving Camila a smile before walking to the front door.
"She's all yours, bud," Lucy says, patting Lauren on the shoulder before pushing pass her to leave. Lauren walks into the house with curious eyes as she takes in the little post it note Camila had left her. Camila rushed out to the backyard before she was spotted, she waited for Lauren.
Hi love,
It's already been a month of calling someone as spectacular as you mine. It's been a month of laughs and tickles, not to mention lots of Disney marathons. One month down, baby. Forever to go. Come find me in the back (:
Yours truly, Camzi
Lauren finishes reading the note, sprinting towards the backdoor. She didn't forget, she had this all planned. As Lauren thinks this she becomes even more ashamed of the fact that she, herself, forgot all about their one month. Camila didn't deserve that, Lauren also knows that she has to tell her. No matter how much she doesn't want to, honesty is key in a relationship.
Lauren finds Camila standing by a table with rose petals sprinkled around it. Hanging lights and candles were the only lights in the darkness that consumes the night sky. She sees a stool over to the side with Camila's guitar case loosely leaning on it.
"Camz," Lauren breathes out, taking slow steps to get closer to her girlfriend.
"Happy one month, Laur," Camila says handing Lauren a rose once they were at arms reach from each other. Camila had the widest grin on her face and all Lauren wanted to do was kiss it, feel it against her own lips. So she did. She softly kissed Camila, letting her know without words how much she appreciated this whole gesture.
"So I'm guessing you like it," Camila whispers as they pull away from the kiss, foreheads still touching.
"I love this, Camz. Happy one month, baby," Lauren says as she bumps her forehead against Camila's playfully. Camila leads her to the table that was set up in the middle of the yard, Lauren still can't believe Camila did all of this for her. No one has ever done anything like this for her before and Lauren isn't sure how to react. Camila walks inside to get the food and Lauren is able to admire everything again. Just capture this moment for the rest of her life and never forget it. Camila walks back out, struggling to juggle everything in her arms. Lauren can't help but chuckles at the cuteness, but nonetheless stood up and helped her carry the food to the table.
"Pizza and grape Crushes, my favorite," Lauren says with a wide smile.
"I can't cook and Lucy didn't know how to either. So I just ordered pizza and got your favorite drink," Camila informs the girl.
"Well I think this is perfect, no home cooked meal and all," Lauren says, grabbing Camila's hand from across the table as she starts to eat her first slice of spinach pizza. Camila scrunches her nose up at even the thought of kissing the lips that touched that pizza, but it was Lauren so she could deal.
"Camz, I need to tell you something," Lauren says nervously, not sure how her girlfriend will react.
"You forgot our anniversary," Camila simply said with a mouthful of HER amazing Hawaiian pizza. Lauren stares at her girlfriend shocked, not expecting that at all. Lauren, still speechless, just nods her head at how nonchalant Camila said that.
"You've been busy, babe. I understand it, this is a relationship. Things like that are going to happen and I'm sure it'll be reversed sooner or later. Sometimes I have to put in a 70 percent because you can't put in anymore than 30 and vice versa. This is one of those times and it's just fine," Camila shares as she leans over the table to give Lauren a slobbery, pizza filled kiss on the cheek. That's when Lauren realizes that she's really falling for this girl, yeah she thought of the possibility before, but she really is. She's already in so deep with this girl.
"You're amazing," Lauren utters out, still star struck by the girl in front of her.
"I know," Camila says smugly with a small smirk inching across her face as she takes a drink of her Crush. Camila and Lauren make small talk the rest of the time they shove their faces with pizza and ice cream for dessert.
"So what's the guitar for," Lauren ask as she swallows the last bit of her ice cream, glancing over at the mentioned item.
"I thought I could play you a song," Camila says shyly, looking down at her lap as she answers. Lauren excitedly stands up, loving when the brown eyed girl plays guitar for her.
"Play something for me then," Lauren says giddily, almost jumping up and down in glee that her girlfriend was about to play for her.
"It's a cover of Happy by Never Shout Never," Camila answers as she takes the guitar out of the case. Lauren has never heard the song, but she knows that she'll love it as soon as Camila starts singing it. Camila sets her guitar up and sits down on her stool. She gives Lauren a shy smile before starting to strum.
You make me happy, whether you know it or not
We should be happy, that's what I said from the start
I am so happy
Knowin' you are the one that I want for the rest of my days
For the rest of my days, yo all of my daysYou're lookin' so cool, you're lookin' so fly
I cant deny that when I'm starin' you down and dead in the eye
I wanna try to be the person you want the person you need
It's hard to conceive that somebody like you could be with someone like meI'm happy knowin' that you are mine
The grass is greener on the other side
The more I think the more I wish that we could lay here for hours and just reminisce
Ooh-oohYou're lookin' so fresh, it's catchin' my eye
Why oh why did I not see this before
The girl I adore was right in front of me
And now I'll take a step back and look in your eye
And ask why it took so long to see we're meant to beI'm happy knowin' that you are mine
The grass is greener on the other side
The more I think the more I wish that we could lay here for hours and just reminisce
On the good, the bad, the ugly
The smiles, the laughs, the funny
Oh, the things we put each other through
It's for you, for you, for youYou make me happy, whether you know it or not
We should be happy, that's what I said from the start
I am so happy
Knowin' you are the one that I want for the rest of my days
For the rest of my daysI'm happy knowin' that you are mine
The grass is greener on the other side
The more I think the more I wish that we could lay here for hours and just reminisce
Ooh-oohCamila finishes more confidently than she started, she smiles at her girlfriend awaiting her opinion.
"That's my new favorite song."
