"It's only been a week, Lo. She'll be okay," Normani tries to calm her pacing best friend down.
"She can't fucking talk," Lauren snaps as she stops and turns to Normani.
"And you guys have been just fine without her talking," Normani tries to reassure, looking around to make sure that they aren't causing a scene in the already chaotic hospital.
"Communication is our key, Mani. What are we if we can't even communicate," Lauren mumbles, collapsing into one of the chairs.
"The doctors said it'll come back eventually. Don't worry so much on it, babe," Normani says, grabbing ahold of Lauren's hand.
"There you guys are we've been looking for you forever," Ally says, her and Dinah almost running to the other two girls.
"Why? What's wrong," Lauren panics, noticing the fear in both girls' eyes.
"She has a brain bleed," Dinah answers Lauren's question quickly. With just those words, Lauren starts to sprint down the hall towards Camila's room. The other three follow closely behind her. They make it to the room to find Camila already gone and Sinu sitting on the couch crying.
Lauren goes and sits next to her, no words were said as she rest her head on the older woman's shoulder and let's her tears fall freely. Lauren turns to Sinu, wrapping her up in her own arms after the sobs quiet down.
"She'll be okay," Lauren whispers, more to herself than to the mother of her girlfriend. Lauren needed all the reassuring that she could get in this moment. She'd come to the conclusion eight days ago that this was all her fault. It's her fault that Camila had gotten so stressed out.
"I know she will be, honey," Sinu reassures, rubbing Lauren's hand with her own.
"Y'all what's going to happen if she isn't alright," Ally whispers just quietly enough to where Sinu and Lauren are out of earshot.
"I don't even want to think of that possibility, Smallz. Mila is strong, she'll pull through. She has to," Dinah declares as quietly as she could. Trying to control her ever growing volume control. They all sit around in quiet for what seems like days, but was merely three hours. The doctor finally entered the hospital room, Camila nowhere to be seen. The five girls and Ale prepared for the worst as they saw the doctors face.
"The brain bleed caused a far setback for Camila. She'll need physical therapy and I understand that she is already doing speech therapy-" the doctor begins as Lauren cuts in, "My mom."
"Yes, Clara. As I was saying I believe that Camila will need more speech therapy than what she is being given at this time period. She is awake, but unlike before is able to talk. I know that it is not where it was before, but please bare with her for now. Over time it'll get better," the doctor reveals as everyone let's out a breath, glad that it isn't too bad. Everyone except Sinu.
"You said that she needed physical therapy? Why," the concerned mom ask as everyone else turns their attention back to the doctor in front of them all.
"She didn't already have a problem with her arm," the doctor asked shocked at this revelation. Everyone looks at each other, left and right. Sinu grabs Lauren and her husband's hands as they brace for this news.
"It is nothing to worry about, she was just telling me about tingles in her arm from time to time in the last week or so since she wasn't able to before now. I figured that with some therapy and maybe even a splint that it should be brand new in limited time," the doctor tells the group of people that are here for his patient.
"Now if you'll excuse me I have other patients I need to see. Camila should be back in only a few minutes," the doctor bids goodbye before leaving the rooms and the people in it.
"Poor Lauren, she can't get laid with Mila's arm not functioning right," Dinah mutters more so to herself than anyone else. Unfortunately almost everyone in the room heard it.
"Dinah Jane," her three friends say in unison, like they had planned it.
"Well that wasn't creepy at all," Dinah jokes which in return earns her even more glares than before.
"You know what? I'll just shut up now," Dinah mutters as she turns away, so that she's not able to see all eyes on her.
"What'd Dinah do this time," Camila ask slowly as she's wheeled into the room in her hospital bed.
"Camz," Lauren practically shouts as she rushes over to her girlfriend.
"Sorry, I've just missed your beautiful voice," she adds sheepishly as she feels all eyes turn to her now instead of Dinah.
"Figured you'd be sick of it now," Camila says, yet again slowly.
"I could never be sick of anything that involves you, baby," Lauren answers sweetly, making everyone in the room 'awe' in response.
"I love you," Camila simply says, reaching up to grab Lauren's neck to pull her into a quick peck on the lips. Lauren grins into it, too happy that her girlfriend is talking again.
"I've missed you," Lauren replies as her 'I love you.'
"So Milz, how's that medicine they got you doped up on," Dinah says breaking the sweet moment.
"Great," Camila said, stretching out all of the letters for emphasis.
"You wanna sneak me some," Dinah pretends to whisper, jokingly winking at her best friend.
"Missed you," was Camila's response.
"Yeah, yeah I've missed your gooey sappy self too I guess," Dinah teases.
"Can't sneak you drugs though," she says slowly as if it was hurting her to speak it.
"It was a joke, Walz," Dinah declares as Sinu comes back in the room.
"I brought you some pudding, I know you hate hospital food. This is the best I could do," Sinu tells her daughter, handing her the said food.
"Thanks," she says before gobbling down the food.
"When are you not hungry, Mila," Normani jokes as her and Ally step more towards the bed. Normani grabs Dinah's hand, attracting the attention of the other three girls. No one comments on it for now though, deciding that they'd speak about it in private later on.
Writer's block sucks. Especially when it's only blocked on the one book that you have chapters out on. Sorry for the shortness and the longness of time that it took for this to come out (still comes out before I have though.) Anyways I hope you guys enjoy this little filler chapter for now and I really hope this shitty block goes away soon. Have a nice day/night and tell me what you think of this.
