One cool morning in the early days of March, little Kayla Smith, along with the rest of her fourth grade classmates was sitting in class reading a book, when suddenly, they heard a knock at the classroom door. Her Teacher Mrs.Kemp went to open the door. As the door was opened the School's Principal, Mr.Morris, walked in. All the young boys and girls stood up and said "Good morning Mr.Morris", "Good morning boys and girls" he said. Mrs.Kemp asked Mr.Morris "how may I help you sir", Mr.Morris answered "can I see Kalya Smith please". Mrs.Kemp excused Kayla and she went to the principal's office with Mr.Morris. When she got in the office she saw her Mother, Makaya Smith, sitting in front on the principal's desk. Amazed by her Mother's brightly coloured pink dress, Kayla smiled and said "Mom you look beautiful", Mrs.Smith smiled at her daughter and said "Thank you"'. Kayla asked her Mother "why she came to the school?", her Mother told her that she is leaving to go on a business trip right after she leaves and cannot pick her up after school", Kayla asked "if her Father can get her?", "Your Father is away" she said."You'll have to walk home". Kayla always wanted to walk home, she smiled and said "YES! YES! OKAY!". Kayla then was sent back to class. When she arrive to her class she quickly sat down at her desk. Mrs.Kemp then placed a sheet of paper in front of each student. "Time for our spelling test" was the voice of Mrs.Kemp. As little 10 year old Kayla Smith along with the 22 other students started to prepare their paper, Kayla pencil broke and she didn't have a second one, she raised her hand to get Mrs.Kemp attention. Almost immedately Mrs.Kemp noticed her hand. "Yes, Kayla" Mrs Kemp said, "My pencil have broken, can you assist me with one please ma'am?" Kayla asked. As Mrs.Kemp walked to her desk she replied "Sure"," OHH NOO!" Mrs.Kemp snapped. "What's wrong" Kalya asked. Mrs,Kemp said to her "I don't have anymore pencils, "I will allow you to go to the principal's office to request a new one". "Yes ma'am" Kayla said, "but hurry" Mrs.Kemp yelled, as Kayla made her way to the door.
Walking the halls alone, Kayla soon realized that there was not a soul to be heard of, it was quiet too quiet. Kayla took the short journey to the School's principal's office. When she arrived at the principal's office, as soon as she opened the door she bumped into the school's fifth grade bully, Carl Wright, along with his Father. Carl hated Kayla and as soon as she bumped him, he and his Dad pushed her and said "watch where your going jerk". Kayla, always was afraid of Carl, so she ran into the principal's office. "Mr.Morris!" She yellowed, he answered "Yes". She told him about her broken pencil and was offered a new one. "Thank You sir" she said. Not soon after she left for class, but out of nowhere she came across smoke smoke. Lots of thick black smoke filled the School, all the students and teachers quickly evacuated the School. Due to the terrible smoke, School had been dismissed early. As little Kayla said her "goodbyes" to friends, she suddenly remembered what her Mother had told her.
She began the long journey from School to her lovely home. As she was walking, she noticed a dark blue coloured car coming in her direction really slow. The car stoped as Kayla got with 5 feet of the car. Kayla was frighten and ran. Running from the strange vehicle, she looked back and saw that the car began to drive off. Kayla felt it was safe enough to stop running. She continued to walk the quiet lonely streets all alone. Suddenly she looked to her right and saw that same unknown car parked and watching her as she started to run again. Just a few yards from her house, Kayla ran at top speed as the car chased after her. Then came her beautiful home just a few steps away. She then quickly ran into the yard to enter the back. Her parents always had a spear key hidden in the yard, lucky for Kayla she knew where it was kept. She found the key and ran inside as quickly as she could. She finally felt safe but everything will soon be over for her.
