Rydel's POV

"Auntie, auntie, auntie!" Madison says as she rushes back over to me after half an hour of us in the mall.

"Yeah Madison?" I reply as I crouch onto my knees.

"I want to get these for me and daddy" She explains holding up a heart locket and a key necklace. I smile at her.

"Whatever my little niece wants. I think that daddy will love it" I say as I stand and go over to the counter to pay.

Riker's POV

I was sat on the couch with my guitar in hand bent over a songbook as I try to put the way I feel about Madison into lyrics. Suddenly I feel someone jump onto my back.

"Ross! Get off me!" I exclaim. I hear a small high pitched giggle. I crane my neck back enough to see Madison there.

"No daddy! Me not Uncle Ross! Me Madison! Silly daddy!" She exclaims through her giggles. I reach my arms back and take hold of her body.

"I know it is you Princess. Daddy was just being silly" I say.

"I got you a surprise" She says while her arms wrap around my neck.

"A surprise!? Are you going to be a good girl and tell me what it is?" I ask with a tone of fake shock while I put her down. She looks at me for a second before smiling at me and saying fairly firmly.

"No"

"Well... It looks like daddy is going to have to make you give it to me" I say as she backs away. She turns on her little heels and begins to run from me. I chase after her until we reach my room and I grab hold of her waist and she starts to squeal and laugh which causes me to laugh to.

God she makes me so happy. I think as I fall onto the bed with her in my arms. We just lay there for some time. I stroke her hair out of her face and smile down at her.

"Madison? I have your daddy's present here. Are you going to give it to him?" Ask Rydel as she sticks her head into the room a couple of hours later.

"Dinner. He gets it then" Madison replies sleepily.

"C'mon Maddy. I'll put you to bed until dinner okay?" I say. She nods as I carry her into her room and get her ready for bed before singing a lullaby that mom always sang to us.

As I leave and turn out the light she whispers:

"I love you daddy." I smile and say:

"I love you too Madison Lynch" before closing the door,
