Kathryn's P.O.V
The air is frigid, clouds dark, today was our first day of college at Ohio University. We had enrolled a litle late, so we would be starting a few weeks late. Me and Grace had been best friends since middle school, we would work through it and make it.
When we were both dressed and ready we headed to Grace's car. I didn't need or have a car. I was a werewolf, but no one knew. Well, except for Grace. We hopped in and she put the key in the ignition.
"Ready for the first day of our lives?!" she cried happily.
I nod, being a werewolf didn't really make you a morning person.
She ignored my grumpiness and turned on her favorite song 'Take Me Home.' She sang at the top of her lungs while driving, causing me to grin. When we arrived at the college, we realized just how huge the school was.
Grace stopped in mid-song, while her mouth dropped open. The school was dark brown with about 10 buildings together, which added to about 2 stories high. At the very front there stood a giant sign that read, "Welcome to Ohio State University, Home of the Buckeyes." We both screech happily, park, and jump out hugging.
"I can't believe we made it," she smiles and I nod in agreement.
We make our way inside to the front office. Not many people were in the halls seeing as we were early. We both got assigned the same dorm, and we got our bags and stormed to the dorm.
We both had earned full ride scholarships. Hers was for tennis and good grades and mine was for volleyball. We dropped all our stuff at our dorm and made our way back to the office to get our schedules.
I guess the lady had forgotten that Grace and I were majoring in the same topic, journalism. So we had all the same classes which was awesome.
We were informed our class would start in 5 minutes, so we thanked her and hurried to our 1st class. English with Mrs. Smith. We both chose our seat in the back, next to each other.
People filed in and chose their seats. After everyone had sat, the teacher began her lesson. Approximately 20 minutes into class a guy with a leather jacket, dark jeans, and dusky brown hair sauntered in. His eyes were an ocean blue and he was definitely well built.
"Late again, Mr. Samuels." Mrs. Smith mutters before continuing the lesson.
He makes his way towards us and stops in front of Grace. "Out of my seat, slut." He hisses at her, while she looks at him shocked.
A growl escaped my lips before I can stop it and his eyes flickered to me a look of amusement flashes in his eyes. I glare daggers at him before he sits down next to her. I hope he hadn't just heard that. Grace shakes her heaad thinking the same.
Grace's P.O.V. (From when "Mr. Samuels" entered)
Did he just say that? He called me a slut, like I was one of those people who drool over him. Let me tell you, I'm not. And I don't plan on changing any time soon.
A note interuptted my thoughts and I was absolutely apalled at what I was reading. He knows nothing, yet he thinks he knows everything. I trembled as I read the note again. Nothing changed. It was still the same message.
'I know what you are and if you don't fess up, then you will most definitely regret it.'
I was quivering as I tossed the note to Kathryn, who read the note over and over again. She was just as frightened as I was. We were exposed.
My panic attack was saved by the bell. Kathryn and I stroded out of the classroom, before she pulled me into the janitor's closet. I could hear her heart rapidly thumping in her chest. Her eyes had started to turn yellow. I shook her violently.
"Come on Kathryn. Not at school."
She awoke with a start, although her eyes were back to her original blues, she still shuddered with fear. "We have to do something about him."
"I know."
She tugged on my arm showing that she had an idea. I stalked her out of the janitor's closet and we sought out "Mr. Samuels."
We found him outside casually standing. His back was against the wall of the school and he was smoking a cigarette.
Kathryn stood in front of me and questioned, "what's your problem?"
I stood in astonishment. Kathryn had just had a mini panic attack in the janitor's closet, but now she was far more confident.
Mr. Samuels replied with a smirk, "Lots of things, sweetheart."
His remark hadn't reduced Kathryn's confidence. "First, don't call me sweetheart. Second, I meant your problem with us. Why are trying to blow our cover?"
"Maybe it had something to do with this honey stealing my seat this morning."
Kathryn held him by his collar and pushed him against the wall. "I know that's not the reason."
Thankfully, the area surrounding us was deserted, so we wouldn't get in any trouble. I restored my attention back on the guy in front of us. I gasped. "Kathryn, wait."
Kathryn dropped Mr. Samuels and directed her notice to me. "What?"
I shivered at the threatening tone she had just used towards me.
Kathryn asked me her question again, but this time she was more calm.
"He's injured."
We both turned our heads towards him and I could see the realization in her eyes.
I fell down next to him and gently rubbed away the makeup from his face. As I suspected, the bruises started to appear.
"Who did this to you?" I tried to keep my voice as gentle as possible.
He turned away and his eyes turned a gloomy blue. "I don't want to talk about it."
And then as if on cue, he stood and stomped out of our view.
I turned to Kathryn. "I want to find out."
"Me too."
