Grace's P.O.V.
I heard voices surrounding me, "Wake up, Grace."
I'd fallen asleep? When? I tried to wake up, but the pain in my head forced my eyes to stay peeled.
I felt a strong pair of arms wrap around me and gently lift me up. I exceedingly wanted to open my eyes and see my savior. I was placed onto an uncomfortable bed and pushed around.
Suddenly, the realization hit me. Oh no, I was at a hospital again.
I felt oxygen flow into my body, but my body fought the urge to surge up. No matter how hard the doctor tried, my body decided to stay put.
'Please. Please.' I pleaded to myself.
The doctor rubbed a pair of small devices together and I could hear my heart trembling to beat. The electric shock ran through me like the Ohio River.
My eyes spazzed open and I started breathing uncontrollably.
A husky hand clutched my hand and whispered, "Deep breaths, Grace. Deep breaths."
I twirled the other direction and spoke, "Thank you." My voice sounded scratchy.
I looked up into the eyes of a beautiful ocean only to realize that my savior was none other than Sean.
Sean pulled a bottle out of a bag and I gasped. "It's your favorite. Pineapple Coconut flavored."
Sean ordered me to open my mouth, but I refused. I wasn't a child, I could drink Ice* all by myself. Sean forced me to unlock my mouth and I finally yielded. He could be so compelling at times.
I finally had enough strength to say, "how did you know?"
"Kathryn."
I looked around the room to see that Kathryn was nowhere to be found.
"You looking for your 'best friend.' She came and gave me the Ice and then got the heck out of here."
"I'm sure there was a valid reason."
Sean snorts and even that sounded attractive, "Yeah. Cause going on a date is soo important."
I was heartbroken. 'Please don't tell me you did this Kathryn.'
She shouldn't be dating another guy, especially when she has Lucas.
I felt a warm hand on my shoulder, "Forget about it. You need to get some rest."
I smiled up at Sean, "But I can't sleep."
Sean shrugged, "That's your problem. I'm not reading you some stupid f*cking bedtime story."
I put on my best puppy eyes and whimpered, "Pwease."
Sean opened his mouth, then closed it and groaned. "Ugh, fine. But it's only cause you look like sh*t."
He dived into a story, but by the "once upon a time," I had gazed into his eyes and drooled.
Sean saw me staring, "You now Grace, I think your drooling over me and not the story."
"HA! That's a good joke."
Sean slightly smiled and continued. Maybe Kathryn was right, I do like Sean. I even like when he cussed. A spaceship landed in my mind.
"Sean? Why are you cussing more than usual?"
Sean had his head leaned against the wall of the hospital and he looked like he needed to smoke real bad. " I curse when I need to smoke."
"Sean, I think you need to stop smoking. You take it as an addiction."
Sean's eyes darkened, "Who are you to me? My mom or my girlfriend? Grace, just cause you want be girlfriend doesn't mean your are."
Sean's eye color returned and he whispered, "Sh*t, I'm sorry Grace..."
I interrupted him and said, "Get out, Sean. I just can't handle this right now."
Sean nods his head and starts to walk out, and right then I blurted out, "By the way, boyfriend. The nurse might ask you to fill out some forms. Just fill out the d*mn forms and leave." I said the word boyfriend like it was poison rolling on my tongue.
Sean stopped dead in his tracks and turned around, "You heard that?"
I nodded and pointed my finger out the door, "I did, now will you please leave? I need some time to think."
Sean left me alone, but I never managed to get to sleep without his soothing scent sanitizing the room.
