Kathryn's POV

I laugh at Sean's joke and smack him lightly before making my way to Grace's car, hoping in and rolling down the windows.

Grace jumps in the driver's side and starts the car. Sean trails behind pouting.

"Why am I in the back?" He whines, faking a sob.

I glare at him.

"Get in the car, little boy,"

We drop Sean off, ignoring his smart comments the whole drive and head to our dorm, getting ready for bed and turning on some movies. Our favorites, Frozen and The Lion King.

..

When I wake up, I'm in a better mood, for now. I get dressed quickly throwing on a floral shirt and some skinny jeans, applying natural make up, chatting with Grace who was also getting ready.

We hop in her car, she even lets me drive, which happens rarely. I smile the whole time, revving the engine and speeding down the highway, causing Grace to glare and complain about my driving, like always.

When we arrive, I park in the front, getting a lucky spot. We make our way into the bustling hallway, all chatting and getting in our way.

Grace makes small talk, and I go along for awhile, until my body slams into something hard, a wall? Shivers speed throughout my body and I then know it wasn't a wall, but Lucas.

Who was wearing a tight black shirt that showed his defined chest, and jeans that hang low on his hips. Ignore it, I remind myself.

I gasp, and shoot off the ground, making quick eye contact, and am about to run.

"You ok?" His voice takes a toll on me, not the good kind.

I nod quickly, and turn to leave once again. He grabs my arm lightly before I can, I gulp. He sees this an tightens his grip slightly.

"Can we talk?" He asks, his eyes darkening.

I shake my head. "There isn't anything to talk about." I say quickly, slipping out of his grasp, hiding behind a locker to watch Grace and him walk off.

He shakes his head, but then looks over at Grace smiling at her and throwing his arm over her shoulders. She laughed and continued to walk with him down the hall. Pain shoots in my chest, feeling as though I had been stabbed.

Tears threaten to spill from my eyes, I shove the feelings down and make my way to first period, which sadly I had with both of them. I take my seat in the back, noticing Grace and Lucas take a seat near me, since there were no seat open next to me, luckily.

I didn't know how much more of that I could take. The teacher begins her lesson and about 30 minutes in she is done.

"I will be assigning you a research project due Monday, your partners are posted on the board, you may look after class and start as soon as possible." She says, motioning to a board next to the door.

We all nod, and the bell finally rings, my eyes scan the paper, seeing that Sean was paired with Grace.

Finally my eyes fall onto my name, and my heart stops.

'Kathryn Parker & Lucas Miller' it reads, I sigh heavily, and quickly make my way out the door, ignoring Grace's calling my name. My life just got even worse.

...

Grace's P.O.V. (From when Kathryn runs into Lucas)

I stared at what Kathryn had just ran into and gulped when I saw Lucas. There was going to be a fight, but to my surprise Kathryn just muttered something and walked away. I was about to chase after her but Lucas took my hand and spun me towards him. I fell into his chest.

I smacked him in the chest. "How many packs is this?"

"It's an eight pack."

"Really?" I said with fake interest.

"Yeah," he said while lifting his shirt so that I could see. "Isn't just the hottest chest you've ever seen?"

"Meh, I've seen better."

He groaned and pulled his shirt down. "I need you to do me a huge favor."

"What? Do you want me help you get better abs?"

"No, I'm being serious."

I looked into his eyes and saw that he wasn't lying. "Yeah."

"Can you ask Kathryn to frogive me?"

"I already tried, but she already made her mind up. Nothing I say is ever going to change that."

"Well, then I guess I might as well kiss my chances with her goodbye."

"No, I don't think you should give up."

"But she won't ever forgive me, so I'm really just wasting my time."

I swatted him in the chest, except this time it wasn't with humor.

He continued, "she just makes me feel special. Like everytime she's sitting next to me, then I could do anything. God, I sound like such a chic."

I ignored his last comment and said, " You really like her don't you?"

He snorted, " Like? Grace, I think I love her."

I smiled and replied, "Then you'd never give up fighting for her."

He nodded and we made our way to first period. We sat down next Kathryn.

After 30 boring minutes, "I will be assigning you a research project due Monday, your partners are posted on the board, you may look after class and start as soon as possible." She said pointing to the plain, white board next to the door.

I stood in line to see who I was working with, but before I could I saw Kathryn run out the classroom. I whimpered and rushed after her.

I found her in the back of the school. She was curled into a ball and crying. I strolled up to her and sat down next her. I was wheezing. Kathryn might run everyday, but I obviously do not.

"Are you going to make this habit? Because I can't keep running after you, it's really tiring.

She laughed and pulled her head up from her lap. She scanned my face and said, "I have to work with Lucas."

"Hey," I said while pulling her into hug. "Maybe it won't be so bad."

"Your right, but you know what he did. You'd be mad too, right?"

"Of course, but friends make mistakes. And mistakes stregthen a relationship."

"I just can't forgive him and I won't."

"Okay, I'll just have to live with that."

"Thanks."

"Anyway. Who am I working with for the project?"

"Sean."

I inwardly smiled. Maybe this project won't be so bad.

But Sean still hates me. Him helping me was a one day thing. I hoped that maybe he wouldn't hate me as much.

"Ohhhhhh, I know that smile. Do you like Sean?" Kathryn said with an evil grin.

"Maybe. I don't know yet."
