Kathryn's POV
My alarm screeches, waking me up, still in a mopey mood. I stalked to my bathroom and got ready, throwing on some grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt, not caring what people think.
I throw my hair in a bun, and make my way to class, without Grace. We hadn't talked since the fight and I guess that was how it was going to be, I would have to like it.
When I enter the hall, I feel his presence, reminding me of what he was, I couldn't and wouldn't accept it. Anything we had is gone, I quickly make my way to my class avoiding him.
I sit in a seat towards the back, and next to the window, the view kept me sane. I am aware of Grace and her guy walking in, I ignore them and pretend to listen to class.
Maybe I could make it today, maybe not.
..
Grace's P.O.V.
I walked into the classroom with Lucas. Apparently, he went to our school and I didn't even know that. We had gotten pretty close, since our little conversation yesterday. I scanned the room and saw two seats together, but I also saw two seats next to Kathryn.
'Now or never.' I told myself. I remembered the words Lucas said yesterday, 'Just apologize.'
I stealthily slid in the chair next to Kathryn and gestured Lucas to sit next. That way I'd be sitting next to Kathryn and Lucas, but Lucas and Kathryn will not communicate.
I nudged Kathryn on the shoulder. She turned my direction and I quickly said, "I'm really sorry."
I saw her expression soften, but she hardened again. "Forget it. Don't apologize."
I was about to reply, but the teacher turn our direction and gave a witty remark. "Grace, Kathryn. Would you like to share your conversation with the class? Or even better, do you wanna share your conversation with the principal?"
"I'm really sorry ma'am. It will not happen again."
"I know it won't. You guys are booted from my class for today. Go have your conversation somewhere else."
I was about argue, but decided to keep my mouth shut. If I opened my jocular mouth, then we'd probably get in more trouble.
I turned to Lucas and shrugged. He gave me a sympathetic look before returning to the paying attention.
I walked out of the class and stood next Kathryn. She was looking the other direction, and she was clearly avoiding me. I started the conversation by saying, "I'm sorry."
She faced me and looked me in the eyes before she turned away again.
"I just wanted to know what happened, so I know what I have to do to make you feel better."
She finally spoke up, "You could have just waited until I was ready to discuss the topic, but instead you let your curiousity take over you."
"I just wanted to help."
"How? By prying."
"You know that's not what I wanted to do."
"You say that, yet you go and ask Lucas anyway."
"Your not understanding what I'm trying to say."
"I don't want to understand."
"Maybe you could just try?"
"Or maybe next time you could stay out of my life!" With that she turned on her heels and stomped away.
I tried to stop her, but the inner me had given up. 'So this is how our friendship ends?'
I stopped dead in my tracks. 'NO! I won't let it end like this.'
I ran after Kathryn. I looked around to see that she had turned into a werewolf and ran away. I ran my hand through panic and nearly ran away, but resolved that I would follow her even if she does hurt me. I sprinted to my car and quickly jerked away from the parking lot. I saw Sean smoking a cigarrette while sitting on the sidewalk. He glared, but his appearance changed when he saw my panic.
He rushed towards me and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Kathryn missing."
He too ran his fingers through his hair, and in all honesty I thought that was totally sexy. I mentally slapped myself. Now is not the time.
He opened my car and sat down in the seat next to me.
"What are you doing?"
"Duh. I'm gonna help you find Kathryn."
"Whatever. I don't need your help." I pulled my car out of the parking lot anyway.
"Okay, if you were Kathryn were would you be."
I thought to myself. "Rooftop,"I muttered to myself.
"What?"
I completely forgot Sean was still sitting right there. "Rooftop," I said boomingly.
"I still don't get it."
"There's this place that me and Kathryn used to go when we were kids. She showed me the rooptop when were in 8th grade. She said it helps her calm her mind."
"Okay, so do you know how to get there?"
"I think so."
"Well then, start driving."
I drove as fast as I could, without passing the speed limit of course.
"Can't you drive any faster than that?"
"I'm going as fast as I can."
"Well your fast isn't fast enough."
"Really? Can you go any faster?" I was starting to regret bringing this jerk.
"Actually I can."
I drive my car to the side and step out. "Then let's go."
He smirked and opened the car door. He got into the car and said, "you might want to put your seat belt."
"What if I don't want to?"
His expression hardened and he said angrily, "Just wear your seat belt."
I groaned and put my seat belt on. "Okay, hero. The seat belt is on, now let's go. Kathryn might be anywhere."
He pressed down on the pedals. Hard. We zoomed down the highway.
"Wait a second, how do you know how to get there?"
"I don't, so tell me."
I glanced at my surroundings, "take a left here and then take a right. I think that's about it."
He did what I had explained and a portion of the rooftop was starting appear.
I opened the door even before he had parked the car. I hurried up the stairs and heaved when I saw Kathryn sitting there. "I'm so sorry."
She circled my direction and slightly smiled, "Actually, I'm sorry."
"Why?"
"I should have told you what happened."
I pulled her into a hug and gave Sean a thumbs up when he rushed up the stairs.
"Aw man," he cried, "And I rushed up these stairs to see you guys have some kind of fight."
Kathryn and I said in perfect unison, "Well, too bad."
"How did I get stuck with two annoying girls?" Sean whined.
Now I smirked, " You tell us."
