Chapter 15

Kathryn's POV

I'm so tired of his crap, I slam my fist into the closest tree, breaking it instantly. Pain hits me a few seconds later, probably just a sprained wrist, I shake it off and make my way through the woods quickly.

Who knows where I was going as long as it was away from Lucas. I just needed to get over him, and there was only one person who could help me, Josh.

And that is exactly where I would go.

Grace's P.O.V.

I sat in front of the TV bored to death. I felt a abrupt sensation of heat next to me and I turn to see Sean. I didn't know where Kathryn was, but I decided to give her some time to get over Claire. It surprised me that Kathryn might still like Lucas after what happened. Sean grabbed the TV remote and changed the channel to a wrestling match.

I try to grab my remote from Sean but he backs up a little bit and I fall on top of him.

He smirks, "I knew you wanted me but I didn't think you wanted me that bad."

I grabbed the remote and pull away from Sean. "Don't push it."

He sighed and returned to the TV. We were watching The Proposal. Sean's eyes were glued to the screen and he seemed to be mouthing the lines along with Andrew.

I giggle and Sean turns to me.

"What? I like this movie."

"I didn't notice," I smile at him and turn back to the movie.

Sean scoots closer to me and puts his arm around me. I push him away and sit at the edge of the couch. Sean laid his head on my lap and says, " I wish I was good enough for you."

I didn't respond, just stroked his hair back and forth.

I hear a shriek, "What the heck is going on here?"

I turn to see Kathryn, looking as pissed as ever.

"Nothing." I mutter under my breath.

"I was literally hurt physically and mentally, but you didn't even have the authority to help me. I thought you were supposed to be my best friend!"

"I can't always be there for you. Especially when you don't listen to half of the things I say."

"But I'm always there for you! Why can't you be there for me when I need you? Instead you're with Sean." Her voice menaces when she says Sean's name.

Sean finally speaks up, "I think I should go."

"No stay Sean, because you're obviously Grace's new best friend."

Kathryn slams the door to the guest room and doesn't come back out.

Sean groans, "Now where am I going to go?"

I point to my room, "My room."

Sean smirks.

"Are you always this perverted?"

"Maybe."

Oh goodness, what am going to do?

Kathryn opens the door and glares at me before saying, "You probably wouldn't be here without me."

"What do you mean?"

"Your dad would have killed you if I hadn't been there for you."

"You don't understand."

"Do I scare you? Is that what it is?"

I shiver silently, "I don't know."

Kathryn rushed over, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get you into this mess."

"I just can't understand. You say that you don't like Lucas, but you're mad when you see him without another girl."

"I have a problem, alright?"

"Yeah it's called anger problems."

"I'm sorry. Why can't you understand?"

"I do. You just don't let me."

Kathryn doesn't say anything, just sits next to me and watches the Proposal.

I hear a muffled voice, "Can I come out?"

I laugh, "Yeah."

Sean comes out with a smile on his face, "It was getting boring in there."

"I can't imagine why."

"Lucas's trying to make you jealous."

Kathryn looks up at Sean, "You sure?"

Sean replies, "No."

I laugh. Sean's always so funny.

Kathryn smiles, "Thanks a lot guys. You're the best."

"You say that for now."
