Moon had trouble sleeping that night. She was pondering the vision- why would Winter ever attack Qibli? Sure, Winter could have his moments but he would never hurt his fellow clawmate.
Would Kinkajou even act like Moon? Three moons, how could she have overlooked this? Even clever and careful Moon could not understand boy trouble and how to combat it. I need to teach Kinkajou how to be me, she thought. Moon tiptoed over to the bed of mosses and jungle plants the RainWing was sleeping on and tapped her on the shoulder, careful not to wake up the boys in the adjoining cave.
"Kinkajou, wake up!" Moon hissed.
"Why is the rainbow scavenger climbing in the baaaasket?" Kinkajou moaned.
"Snap out of it! We have a dilemma at hand."
"No I won't help you make the baaaasket."
Moon dragged the RainWing out of bed and Kinkajou finally fully awoke. "Sorry, I was having a dream about a rainbow scavenger and he loooooooves strawberries."
"Okay, I brought you a scroll to take notes. The headline for the notes will be: 5 tips to being Moon."
Kinkajou's Notes :-)
1. Moon is a little quiet but always speaks with intelligence.
"Wait a second I thought these were going to be true?" Kinkajou giggled. "Number Two," Moon continued.
2. Moon likes adventure, but doesn't want to break any rules like some dragons to have fun.
"Hey which dragons are we talking about?"
3. Moon has the occasional vision.
"Maybe once or twice pretend to see something." Moon stated.
4. Moon can read minds of any dragons without skyfire.
"Again, just pretend to hear what others are thinking every once and a while, but don't become obsessive or obnoxious with it."
5. Moon is not a show off.
"Alrighty this should be super duper easy," Kinkajou said. "Can I just go to sleep now?"
"Okay," Moon said. "But first, let me see you look like me." Kinkajou concentrated hard, and her scales turned a midnight black. Silver teardrops appeared beside her eyes. It looked like Moon was glancing into a mirror and saw an exact copy of herself. "Perfect!" she exclaimed. Moon was beginning to feel more confident now. She had the key to making this future vision right.
**********
The next morning, both Winter and Qibli smiled at her during breakfast. Moon giggled nervously back ta each of them.
Kinkajou would go with Qibli in the morning to visit the Rainforest Kingdom. She was to stay clear of Moon and Winter, who were going to do the same thing. Then at lunch, Moon and Kinkajou would have to use the little dragon's room and they would swap. They would both take separate routes to the kingdom.
***********
On the way there, Moon was having a good time with Winter. So far, so good. They raced and joked, and Winter told tales of the "glorious" Ice Kingdom.
"We feast every day. Every royal family member has time to tell a story of their recent adventures, and then we look at the updated rankings. Though, I am not a member of my tribe anymore and they think I'm dead. I miss those times." Winter actually looked sad. Was Winter actually showing emotion?
All of a sudden, Winter stopped dead in his tracks.
"You know what Moon, I can't do this anymore." And with that, the IceWing turned around and flew away from her. Moon was beguiled. What did she do to make him this angry?
