Moon felt bad. She didn't mean to offend Qibli. She knew he was very sensitive about his family.

"I'm so sorry Qibli. I shouldn't have snapped."

"It's okay. I should tell you if we are going to know each other," Qibli said. My mother is an, um, assassin. Cobra. My father- I don't know. My mother didn't treat me right. My family is so ruthless and coldhearted I wanted to make a difference. I am not them" Qibli's talons writhed together.

"I feel sick. Just talking about them makes me feel terrible. Thank the moons Thorn saved me. My mother literally just gave me away."

Moon took one of his talons as they flew along and rubbed it. He seemed to calm down. She really liked Qibli. He was so honest and never hid things like Winter did. But Winter was so funny and jaw dropping hot. How would she ever be able to choose between them? She had visions of both of them in her future. Who would she choose?

As they flew, the green, tropical rainforest below them changed into a sandy paradise. Soon, a huge castle loomed into view.

"Welcome to the SandWing stronghold," Qibli narrated in a loud, obnoxious voice. "For our first stop, we will be in the library."

Moon giggled so much that smoke snorted out of her nostrils.

The library was a large dome filled with lush plants- an indoor oasis. Moon's jaw dropped. This was her dream come true. She couldn't imagine anything more wonderful. Should she twine her tail with Qibli?

Yes.

He smiled. The onyx pupils of his eyes gazed at her. They both knew they wouldn't rather be anywhere else right then.

Qibli seemed to break out of their trance and opened the door. Moon breathed in the scent of fresh scroll. Her nostrils flared with pleasure. She picked out one while Qibli watched. They sat together on a pile of leaves and read the story out loud.

"'The SandWing Exodus from an Inside View,'" read Qibli. "Hey, Starflight wrote this!"

"Yeah, it's supposed to be good!" Moon smiled.

"' I was living with the now late Kestrel when I first heard of the ever-relevant exodus. As one of the supposed 'dragonets of destiny,' I was trained to fight to one day be a savior to dragons affected by the war. But, I soon learned that fighting wouldn't end the fight. Peace would."' Moon finished.

"Wow. This is really interesting! It is crazy to think we weren't friends then. I feel like I've known you for forever!"

With every word they read, the two became more tired. They soon fell asleep, Moon's head resting on Qibli's warm golden scales.

Moon was awakened by something waved in front of her nose. As her blurry vision cleared, she saw an important looking dragon talking to a small light dragon.

"They fell asleep because of the mimosyweed. It was sprouting near here. The gardeners must have forgotten to pull it up."

"I know Qibli will forgive us."

The voice was familiar. Oh my moons. It was QUEEN THORN!
