The next few weeks passed quickly, leaving everyone alone to grieve and relax. Mostly though grief struck over the Ark like a disease. Spreading from person to person. It was contagious, and no one was safe, no one had the vaccine. Everyone mourned the loss of Earth. The beautiful planet they were all sent to die on. The lush forest surrounding them, began to feel more like home rather than the steel tin they had all grown up in. Even though they had lost so many friends and members of their clan Earth held dearest memories to them. To Bellamy, the Earth felt like he was truly home. A place to start fresh, and not remember that here on the Ark is where his sister was arrested, and locked up just for being born. Here on the Ark is where his mother was floated, her lifeless body floating around infinitely through space among the stars. It sounds beautiful, to float endlessly through space, the stars passing you by. But here floating just seemed so barbaric, even compared to the things he'd had to do on the ground.
The silence on the Ark was sickening. For the past few weeks no one hardly spoke. Raven not only mourning the loss of a planet she'd grown to love, but she buried herself tirelessly in working on electrical grids, oxygen and a few things that needed repairs outside. Clarke mourned her mother. While Abby was sure to be alright, Clarke never had a chance to speak to her. To say goodbye, or that she loved her. Unless Monty and Raven could get a radio working she wouldn't hear her mother's voice for five years. Bellamy knew that hit Clarke hard. Not to mention he knew Clarke was still grieving over Lexa. Something she hadn't had a chance to do. Monty was grieving for Jasper, a life long friend, a brother. Not to mention he had shot and killed his own mother. Harper mourned with him, while simultaneously worrying if her mother made it on the inside. Murphy and Emori were the only two who didn't seem completely affected with the grief illness that wandered the Arks silent halls. While they hardly talked much and Murphy didn't seem to offer up any smart ass remarks about anything it seemed as though they were mostly keeping to themselves. Echo seemed to handle it worse than everyone. She was always getting lost, and she mourned not only her home, the planet she grew up but the fact that she was alone. She had no clan.
Bellamy himself, wondered if Octavia would be okay. If she would be a good leader, one the Grounders looked up to and followed. He wouldn't be able to see or speak to his sister for five years. That was a long time. What if she got married? Had kids. What if, even worse something bad happened inside the bunker? Bellamy couldn't bare to think it. He shook the thought from his mind as best he could but it was no use.
Sitting up from the tan colored couch, and folding the page in his book, Bellamy decided to take a break. While it was a book on Greek and Roman Mythology, a subject that was always his favorite he felt he couldn't really focus on it with everything bouncing around in his brain. Setting the book down beside him on the sofa he decided to take a walk to command center. To see if Raven wanted to chat for a while. As he walked down the hall he came to Echo practicing her sword skills. She wasn't in her normal grounder clothes, her furs or pelts. She was dressed in tight black leggings, and a camisole, that was cut off just above her belly button. She looked just like a citizen of the ark. In fact she looked just like every privileged girl he'd ever seen. Watching her, groan as she would spin, slashing at the air he couldn't help but feel a little uneasy watching her hold that weapon. It was her weapon after all and they didn't want to just take it away from her, even though Bellamy thought they should have.
