Even though they all texted everyday, it seemed to Elizabeth that 5 months has been an eternity. She keeps reminding herself that they'll eventually go back on break and might visit her again. But she's happy that they are doing what they love. She's happy that they are happy because ARMY is happy. She wasn't going to let her sadness get the best of her.
