Twenty One

After we finished cleaning up the camp Max flopped to the ground.

"Now Max, why did you blow up the camp?" David asked.

"Ya what the hell kid?" I asked.

Max stood up and stuffed his hands in his pocket.

"It wasn't just me! Neil and Nikki were there too!" Max said angrily.

"Now don't try and bland this on them! Your just a bad influence on them!" David put his hands on his hips and glared.

"Fuck you!" Max yelled and stormed off.

"Max wait!" David chased after the boy.

"David. Let him be alone for a bit." I grabbed his shoulder.

"But..." He started.

"Let him go. He can't be mad at you forever." I told him firmly.

David burst into tears and clung to my white shirt.

"Cmon you big baby." I said as I picked him up bridal style.

"Where are we going?" He asked, still crying.

"Surprise." I smiled.

"Daniel?"

"Yes Davey?"

"I love you."

I laughed.

"What?" David asked.

"I love you too." I said giving him a kiss on the forehead causing him to giggle.

"There's my Davey. Don't worry about Max. Ok?" I said.

"Ok." David said as he looked at the ground.

I let him down and he got in my white SUV.

"Where are we going?" He asked.

"I told you. Suprise."
