Chapter 17

Chapter 17: February and Valentine’s Day

            The next month was already February, and Manna smiles showed of more often than before, since she start hanging out with Margaret and Keith. Sid, Keith, and Joe was in love with Manna, Sid and Joe admit it, but Keith wasn’t sincere with his own feeling. Manna get to school the first day of February and she found a card in her locker. The card said:

Dear Manna:

            I always liked you since the first time I’ve seen you, would you like to be my girlfriend?

But it didn’t said from who it was so she didn’t care, when she close the locker door a guy appear in front of her and ask her again “do you want to be my girlfriend?” Manna replies with a stick note that said “no” in it. Then after she left her locker a group of boys start singing and at the end a guy appeared and ask her if she wanted to be his girlfriend, but she replied no.

            She finally get to the class and the teacher groups people for a project which is make a poem and the pairs was made by a boy and a girl. The people choose alone their pairs. Manna was invited by half of the class that was single or didn’t have someone they liked or a friend to do the project so they all ask Manna. Manna decline each of them and each of them found another pair except Sid and Joe. Keith didn’t have anyone so he decide to do it with Margaret. Manna didn’t want to do it with neither of them so she grab Jett and ask him if he wanted to do it with her and Jett agreed. The teacher force Sid and Joe with to other girls that didn’t have pair and those two girls was crazy for them. The teacher put the instruction in the board and it says:

            - Pairs are boy and a girl

            - The poem need to be about love

            - Each pair must make at least two poems

            - This is going to be test grade and be done at home.

            - This poem is for valentines

And the teacher tells her student “I hope you find something good in this project and please write good ones, you can go home.”

            The next day happen the same thing with Manna and the day ended fast. Manna and Jett decide to go to the library to work on the projects and unexpectedly they found Keith and Margaret their so they decide to work together. And Jett write a poem for Margaret. Keith write one inspired by a book. Manna write one without any thinking and finally Margaret write one for her boyfriend.

            Everyday someone ask Manna out and Manna decline every person. Until valentine’s came. And Manna’s locker was full of chocolates. But, Manna didn’t care about who gave them so she just left them in her locker. When she arrive to class half of the class gave her chocolates too. After everyone give the chocolate to Manna the teacher make them recite their poems. Then, finally the last poem of the class was Jett’s poem and it says:

            I’m sorry

            But love hurts

            It’s not easy to forget

            But fast to be crushed and hurt

            I hope you

            Happy Valentine’s
