Clara Oswald, special agent for project: time trials, was in hell of a lot of trouble.
You see; Agent Oswald is a highly respected and condemned agent amongst her colleges. Unless she fails her mission miserably and sets back Project: Time Trials by nearly four months. A small slip up that caused major repercussions. And caused her to be walking down hallways of the giant space station base after being summoned by the agency's director.
Her footsteps echoed through the building, various top agents turned their heads to gaze upon her disapprovingly. Her last mission report was uploaded to the database just that morning. People haven't been able to stop looking in her direction. She tried to ignore them, she really did, but all of those faces, all of those eyes, have an effect on a person.
She makes her way up to the director's office, the area near there didn't have many workers. Usually only top agents or the director's personnel. She walks up to the assistant's desk.
"Agent Oswald, I see you made your way up here," The assistant said to her and then activated her small earpiece, "Director, Agent Oswald is here for your meeting."
Clara stood there, holding her hands, awaiting the director. Her nerves couldn't be calmed. She could hardly stay focused on one thing.
The assistant then looked back up at Clara, "The Director will be with you in a moment, you can wait over there." She gestured to some chairs and tables in which where people were to wait.
Clara made her way over to the seating area but didn't really have the courage to sit down. She just stood and looked out of the glass wall. A beautiful galaxy of stars and colors could be seen from the base. She could see her reflection in the glass as she looked out. Clara made a vain attempt at looking proper today. Her hair was just that little bit messy, her uniform was slightly askew, her painted nails were beginning to chip. She had always noticed the flaws in herself more then anyone, and now everyone can see all the insecurities she had kept to herself. All laid out for the entire agency to read on file.
She was brought back to reality when she heard someone talking, "I am here to see the Director about my new assignment."
Clara knew who it was when she turned around to look at them. Agent Me: another one of the Time Trial's agents. She has been at the agency since Clara enrolled. Agent Me was incredible at surveillance and stealth, something Clara always struggled with, and she has outdone Clara time and time again. Even though they had such a competitive relationship they were still quite good friends. Clara even knew her real name.
"Just wait there a moment." The assistant told Agent Me and she looked up at Clara. Then began to walk over with a smug look on her face.
Clara stiffened as she turned back to look away from her supposed rival.
"I see you're finally getting your talk with the director." Agent Me said to Clara as she walked up beside her, also looking out onto the stars.
"I don't know yet, it could be a new assignment." Clara said, trying to sound confident.
"Well I wouldn't consider myself an expert on the matter of your last mission, but I do think that what you did violates quite a lot of policies. What makes you think that anyone would assign you another mission?" Agent Me asked her without a shred of sympathy.
Clara didn't know how to respond, she just glanced down trying to ignore the remarks.
Agent Me continued, "if I were the director, I would have you disengaged and sent home."
Clara held her anger in and only looked out at the galaxy in front of them. She hated what she said only because it was true. That one mistake will cost her career. Maybe even her life if the authorities ever found out.
"Agent Oswald, the director will see you now." The assistant said to her.
Clara gave Agent Me one last look and then went for the office doors.
