"But there is a clear and serious threat!" Clara argued against the director.

She managed to get a meeting with him. She thought that she could get a team to shut down Gereth Suns and be done with the whole thing but the director wasn't cooperating.

"I know that but I'm sorry I can't do anything if no one has hired us." The director told her.

"Yes you can, of course you can, we can do whatever we want." Clara pleaded.

"Agent Oswald, I can't keep discussing this if you won't listen." He said.

"You're the one not listening, Agent Pond said they had a weeping angel," she said, "shouldn't that have some kind of protocol?"

"No it does not, Agent Oswald, because this agency has bigger things to worry about."

"I can't believe you're not doing anything about this." Clara groans in frustration.

"Perhaps you don't remember, Clara Oswald, but you and I aren't the same rank anymore," The Doctor said coldly, "you can't command whatever you want anymore. I'll alert the local authorities but that's all I can do."

"How can you just sit there knowing that the universe isn't safe?" Clara asked him and he looked down sadly, obviously she struck a nerve.

"I know you as a woman who never gives up, Agent Oswald," he told her, "I know that this isn't easy for you, but please believe me when I say this is all I can do."

Clara couldn't believe what she was hearing. She hasn't been spoken down to by the director in quite a long time. It made her furious.

"Who hired us for that mission?" She asked him.

"I don't know what you mean."

"I mean, who wanted that data file?"

"Well how am I supposed to know?" The Doctor asked her, "it's not like I sit around having a chat with everyone who hires us."

"Please, just tell me." She said.

"As a regular agent you are not allowed access to the agency's clients," he told her, "I'm sorry."

"Then give me back my top agent status," she begged, "I'll do this myself."

The Doctor was amused by her request, "I'm sorry, I can't do that."

"If I'm a top agent again I can shut down Gereth Suns and save the galaxy from whatever they're planning." She told him.

"It's not that easy, I can't just give you your past position, not after what you did." He told her.

"But..." she didn't know what to say, there was no was the director was changing his mind, "but we need to help."

"I will let the local authorities know what's happening and then it's out of our hands," he told her, "I'll let you know if there's a mission that requires your skills. But for now, Agent Oswald, you can leave."

She wanted to fight back, to tell him he was wrong, but she also knew that it would be no use.

"Yes, sir." She spoke bitterly and then turned and left the office.

Clara exited the director's office with rage boiling in her blood. That entire meeting was out of her control, and even if she didn't admit it, she hated not being in control.

"How did it go?" Agent Pond, her partner, was sitting outside the office waiting for Clara to come out.

"He's not going to help us," Clara told her regretfully, "the agency can't do anything about it."

"What? That's ridiculous, why not?" Amy quickly stood up.

"Just follow me." Clara told her and she began to walk further down the hall.

"But what about the angels?" Amy had to quicken her pace to catch up with her.

"Don't worry, I know what to do." Clara told her quietly.
