"Is this... floor 470?" Amy asked as they both stepped off the gravity lift.
"Yep, c'mon we can't stay here for long." Clara said to her and began walking down the hallway.
Amy looked around at the luxurious living quarters for the very top agents. Everything looked expensive and comfortable, nothing seemed out of place. She felt like she was in a museum, she couldn't touch anything.
"You really used to live here?" Amy asked Clara with wonder as she continued to look around curiously.
"I lived one floor down, but it's pretty much the same." Clara explained.
"This makes the lower level look like living in a prison." She comments.
And that's exactly how Clara felt, she is in a prison. Unable to do anything, not even able to help those she swore to protect. And it's the simple things too, she doesn't have the perks of taking any mission she wanted or request any file in the agency's impossibly vast selection. She'd forgotten what it's like to be unheard by everyone. To be cast to the side because of her rank.
"Why are we here again?" Amy asked.
"I told you, we're looking for someone." She said.
"Oh... well who is it?"
Little did they know, a figure was standing behind them, "Who is it indeed?" The girls both heard a very masculine voice behind them which made them both jump and quickly turn to see a man only in his boxers.
"Jack!" Clara says with annoyance and he laughed, "why don't you have any clothes on?"
"I thought I'd never see you again," he said then he put on a seductive smirk, "how've you been?"
"Shut it, Jack, I'm not here to flirt." She spoke to him, still fairly annoyed.
He rolled his eyes, "when are you?"
"I'm here because I need your help." Clara told him but his attention was already on her partner.
"Well who have we here?" He asked Amy and flipped his hair, "hello, Captain Jack Harkness."
Amy had already eyed his figure up and down and looked back up at him with a smirk tugging at her lips, "Amelia Pond, at your service."
Jack already had a hold on her hand and kissed it lightly, "Hello there, Miss Pond."
"Stop it." Clara warned.
"Oh..." Jack noticed the ring on her finger, "or is it Mrs Pond?"
Clara quickly looked at Amy. How could she miss something as obvious as the ring on her finger? Was she really married?
"You're married?" Clara asked her.
"Um well... sort of. It's hard to explain..." she told them.
"Well then it sounds like there's some wiggle room." Jack said and then pulled her close.
By then Clara had enough, "as much as I'd love to imagine this working, we have an actual favor to ask you."
Jack let go of Amy, "is it about the two Advarians in my room? Because I swear I told The Doctor that I would have them out of here in like two hours so it'll have to be quick–"
"No not that you perverted animal! A real favor to ask, you know like a professional one?" Clara said.
"Oh! Sorry," he chuckled, "so what is it you need from me?"
"We need access to the agency's client list, from all the missions that the regular agents are hired to do." She told him.
"Alright, yeah, I can do that," he said, "but wait a minute—why can't you do it yourself?"
"Well that's... um... you don't know?" Clara had trouble telling him, "I was... I was demoted..."
Jack just looked at her for a moment at a loss for words, quite an amusing sight, Jack without words.
"I–I'm sorry, Oswin..." he said, "I know how hard you worked for your title."
Clara just tried to shrug it off and get back on track, "yeah well it's gone now, nothing I can do about it. So are you going to help us or not?"
"Yeah, for sure," he said, "anything for my little Oswin."
Clara couldn't suppress the small smile on her lips, "I'm not that little."
"Oh yes you are and we love you for it!" Jack teased and nudged her with his elbow.
"Just go get dressed and take us to the data room, idiot." She pushed him towards his room and he complied, closing the door behind him.
Amy came up next to Clara with a teasing smirk on her face. Clara glanced up at her.
"What's that look for?" She asked.
"You and him seem awfully close." She smiled.
Clara's eyes widen, "you think me and him? Ha! No! Only in his wildest dreams."
Amy laughed, "yeah he is a bit much."
"I thought you two were quite the hit." Clara said.
"Him? Nah, not really my type." Clara noticed that Amy was now playing with the ring on her finger.
A few moments later Jack came back out in his uniform but a very long WWII jacket was paired with it. Not something that most agents did but then again Jack wasn't like most agents.
"Alright let's get going." He winked at both of them.
