The following morning, after a restless night of sleep, Agent Oswald was ready for her mission. Ready to prove to the entire agency what she was made of. Ready to prove that she can overcome this one obstacle.

"Agent Pond." She had noticed that her current partner was still asleep even though they had to report to transport soon, "Agent Pond!"

She stirred in her sleep a bit and mumbled something. Clara could conclude that Agent Pond wasn't a morning person. Or rather, a waking up person to be more accurate. The base didn't really have a night and day, just simulations and different lighting for the humanoids to feel more rested.

"Agent Pond, I won't ask again, wake up!" She stated firmly.

"No, Rory, five more minutes." Amy mumbled, still half asleep and leaving Clara rather confused.

"Rory?" She whispered to herself.

She looked at the time again and then decided that she had enough of these games. She remembered an old tactic that worked back in training when someone wouldn't wake. Clara was often the victim of this terrible routine, which is why she is always awake at the exact same time.

She went over to the end of the twin bed and grabbed the posts. Using her strength, she tipped the bed over to one side, causing Amy to roll out and onto the floor with a thud.

"What!? What's happening!?" Amy was suddenly awake and urgently looking around as Clara dropped her bed back in its previous position.

"Good, now that you're awake you can get ready for today's assignment." Clara told her.

"Did you just throw me out of my own bed?" Amy asked accusingly.

"Yes I did, Agent Pond." Clara stated confidently.

"Why the hell did you do that?" Amy asked rather annoyed.

"Well you refused to get up." Clara said. "Now, be ready in five. I've got our supplies ready and an initial plan," she checked the time again, "actually make that three, be ready in three minutes."

"Three minutes? How do you expect me to be ready in three minutes?"

"Don't be late." Clara said and then exited the room before anything more could be said.

As she was taken up to transport by a gravity disc, she was a bit nervous. It was a stupidly easy assignment, and she was nervous for it. She wanted to hit herself for being so worked up. She'd done countless missions where she has nearly gotten killed, she's been tortured and captured on dozens of other assignments, and she even had a few assignments where she had to purposely get found by some of the most ruthless empires in the universe. There was no other mission that was safer than this one... and she was nervous. She played with her nails as she held the equipment in her hand.

"You're ridiculous, Oswin..." she told herself, "you're lucky to be going on any missions."

She hoped Amy would be ready to go, Clara was eager to get out and do what she does best. It'll probably clear her head. But she did have her doubts about her partner. She didn't know if she could handle such a novice after working with top agents like Me and the others. And not working with a project was always concerning. You never know if what you're doing is really right. It's just work that the agency was hired to do by very rich individuals. Usually the director has to approve them but there is the occasional slip up.

Clara made it to transport and walked through the doors.

"Ah, well if it isn't Agent Oswald." Said the operative.

"Hello, Professor Song." Clara smiled a bit.

Professor River Song, the woman who controls transport across all of space and time. Transport is actually a device known as a TARDIS. Ancient TimeLord technology. The first agents stole one and the agency has used it ever since.

"I'm here!" Agent Pond came through the doors in a hurry, "I'm here! Not late!"

Clara smiled a bit for a second, "good to see you're on time, Agent Pond."

"Yeah." She was out of breath, "good to be here. So what is all of this then?"

"This is the TARDIS." Professor Song told her. "It can take you anywhere in all of time and space."

"All of time and space? Must use a hell of a lot of fuel." She concluded.

"The TARDIS uses the energy from a burning star, a super nova, which creates an almost infinite amount of energy." Professor Song explained, "don't they go over these things at the academy anymore?"

"Um... yeah I suppose. I uh... wasn't really paying attention." Amy told them.

"So where are you off to today?" Professor Song asked Clara.

"Just two galaxies over to the biggest city on Uoli. Preferably near a corporation known as Gereth Suns." Agent Oswald told her.

"Right, let me just set the coordinates." Professor Song said as she began flipping switches and typing in numbers.

The child of the TARDIS is what she was called. Professor Song is the only person in the agency, besides the director, that really understands the TARDIS. There was rumors long ago about Professor Song and the director having a relationship. This was before he was even the director. So a very long time ago. Clara never believed the rumors of course, someone like The Doctor could never love anyone back. Everyone knew that.

She looked over at Amy who had calmed her breathing now. Clara noticed how her uniform wasn't quite on correctly–probably from getting ready in such a hurry–and she still looked rather tired. Hopefully the adrenaline of the mission will wake her up.

"Alright, all set!" Professor Song said with victory in her voice.

Clara stepped into on of the transport pods like usual.

"Oh and Agent Pond." Professor Song got her attention, "the director wanted me to give you this."

Amy took the thing in her hand and Clara soon realized it was an agent's pin. Amy looked very excited as she put it on. A normal agents pin. Clara had forgotten that Amy was so new that they hadn't even gotten her the pin yet. It only made her remember that this would be her first mission. Her very first.

Clara remembered how nervous she was for her first mission. It took all of her strength just to get into the transport pod. Clara was a bit of a perfectionist and a control freak, so being bossed around by another more experienced agent was out of her comfort zone at the time.

Amy copied Clara and got into another one of the transport pods. She seemed eager and excited, Clara on the other hand seemed determined and focused.

"Good luck." Professor Song smirked and pulled the lever, causing Clara and Amy to be sent into the vast and unpredictable regions of space.
