"Hey, Maggie!" you yelled, approaching the farm. She looked your way.
"Hey, (Y/N)!" she said, and then saw you and Glenn holding hands. "Oh my God, is this it? Are you guys finally together?"
Your face went red and you let go of Glenn's hand. "Um, no, I-"
"Where's Hershel?" Glenn asked her. You smiled at him.
"He's in the house, go on in," she said disappointedly.
The two of you walked in and found Hershel at the dining room table, reading his Bible.
You cleared your throat to get his attention. "Um, Hershel?"
He looked up. "Yes?"
You looked to Glenn. "Take it away."
"Well, we, um, were by the barn. You know, talking. And we, kind of heard some walkers... in there, so, we were wondering if-"
"Are you aware of this?" you finished.
Hershel looked at you for a few moments. "Yes."
"Oh! Um... I'm glad you know," you said awkwardly. Glenn looked at you in confusion. Then you asked, "Why?"
Hershel looked back at his Bible. "I believe they can still be saved. A cure, maybe."
He closed his eyes. "Maybe..."
You felt sorry for him. He was naïve to what this world had become.
"I hope so," you told him, grabbing Glenn's hand and dragging him out.
You sighed. "Are we gonna tell everyone else, now?"
Glenn nodded. "We have to."
"As soon as we get back?"
He nodded.
"I just... I feel bad for him, you know? He believes that... that there's a cure, and there's not. Jenner told us that much. I just-" you stopped yourself, groaning in frustration.
"Hey," he started. "What happened to all that hope?"
You smiled up at him. "It's the reason I'm here."
He smiled back.
"Oh my God, just kiss already!" you heard Maggie yell. You both started laughing.
"Glenn!" Rick yelled from another direction.
Glenn shook his head, still laughing.
But as he walked away, you thought you heard him mumble, "I wish."
