"Allison Keith, I dare you to kiss Elijah Best," Ethan says.

I turn crimson. Me? Kiss a guy? And not just any guy -- Elijah Peter Best?

You really got me there, Ethan Best.

"Kiss who now?" I shriek. At the same time, Elijah yells, "Dude! Are you serious?"

"That's awkward," Kayleigh whispers.

Tell me about it, Leigh.

"Can I change the dare to truth?" I ask weakly.

"Okay. Either you kiss Elijah or tell us who your crush is," Ethan says evilly.

That's even worse, tbh. I mean if I say the truth, Elijah will find out that I like him. But if I kiss him, that would be just a dare. And it wouldn't really matter if we like each other, would it?

"Let's do it," Elijah says. "It's not like we have feelings for each other anyway."

Yeah it's not like I am so in love with you anyway.

Note the irony.

We lean in closer.

I swallow. I'm actually doing this -- not to mention my first kiss. Well, except for Ethan's CPR. I shudder at the thought.

One...

Two...

Three --

"Your check," the waiter says in a loud voice that Elijah and I suddenly separate from each other.

"Wh-what check?" I question.

"The payment. Our food costs sometimes, you know."

I nod, smiling.

I need to thank him later for interrupting that almost-kiss.

A/N: Man this chapter is short as heck. It was originally long, but I cut it, so I can do a cliffhanger. And then it became even shorter, because Wattpad hates me and didn't save some paragraphs, so I had to recreate it. I so hate it when this happens.

Oh, and four chapters today! Because I love y'all lmao. And I'm happy because I got Starbucks. Food can do wonders to a lazy person, I guess.
