[Ethan's POV]

"So, Kaitlyn, did you have fun?" my cousin Callie asks her daughter once she opens the front door.

"Yes! We ate cotton candy, and we went to the ferris wheel and played games, and Uncle Ethan's best friend Ally went with us, and...."

"Ally, hmm?" Callie says, sharing me a look. I raise my eyebrow in confusion. "Is she a girl?"

"Yes, Mom," Kaitlyn answers for me. "She has nice hair and bright eyes and she's nineteen years old and she gave me some popcorn!"

"Just a friend, huh, Ethan?" Callie says smugly. I give her a warning look.

"We're just friends," I mutter, more to myself.

"It's about time you get yourself a girlfriend, Ethan."

"Stop. She doesn't even like me. She likes someone else. And I don't really like her that way," I protest. "Bye, Kaitlyn."

"Bye, Uncle Ethan. Bye, Uncle Elijah," Kaitlyn replies, yawning, and I lead them outside -- a little more forcefully to be frank.

"So," I turn to face my brother, who had a blank face on. "I'm going to stream on Twitch. Later." I pass him as I head to the stairs when Elijah speaks up.

"You know that definitely wasn't cool, bruh."

I look at him, puzzled. "What do you mean?"

He stares at his feet, as if they were the most interesting thing he'd seen.

"You shouldn't have done that."

I roll my eyes. "I can't answer your question if you don't tell me what 'that' is."

"Don't play with me. You know what I mean."

"No."

"I'm talking about Ally!" he snaps.

I nod slowly. "And what about Ally?"

He shakes his head. "You talk to her mostly everyday. You brought her to Between the Lakes. You rode the rollercoaster together. She hugged you, shared her biggest secrets with you, and is so f------ close with you! And people think you're together and stuff. It's annoying!"

"Oh and remember when you gave her CPR? Such an excuse to kiss her."

I widen my eyes. Elijah is acting incredibly and surprisingly weird. I can't remember the last time he's been like this.

"Wait...how did you know that we talk to each other everyday?" I ask curiously.

He shrugs, and quiets down. "I know your Twitter password."

I blink. "Which means -- "

"Heck yes, I read your DMs, right from the start!" he yells.

Well that's interesting.

"Does that mean you know that Ally has a crush on -- "

"Me? Yes."

"You read all  of them?"

"No just the beginning. But that's not the point," his voice gets louder and louder. "The point is you have to stop being too close with her. You two are too comfortable with each other. And I don't like it."

"There's nothing wrong with being friends with Ally."

"If you're her friend, then there is something wrong!"
