Charles

He followed behind his parents. Holding the rust stained pipe in his hands. He watched Katt's feet, micking how she walked. Becoming more silent with each step. He looked up, watching his mother be held in Bill's arms. She was staring back at him. She smiled softly to him, he gave a quick nervous smile. Katt suddenly stop and motioned them to move back.
"Charles come here" Katt whispered. He walked up to her quickly his shoes silently squeaking. "There is two guards up ahead. I want to you walk to them as silent and quickly as possible. Go for the one on the left" She told him the plan. He nodded, excited and frightened. "Hit them as hard as you can in the back of the head" She added and looked around. Charles stared down at the pipe and tightened his grip. Katt walked toward them, Charles followed close behind. His shoes had made a loud squeak attracting the guards attention. Charles and Katt ran up and knocked them out quickly. "That'll be a problem..." She pointed at his shoes. He sighed taking them off. They were his favorite pair and they were warm and comfortable. Charles slung them over his shoulder, grabbing the pipe and walks with Katt. The floor was cold and he hated it.
"Just around this corner" Toriel said, she looked at the map in her lap. Katt nodded and looked around, she quickly pulled her back and hissed.
"Different way, quickly..." She hissed. Toriel shook her head.
"This is the only way out" Toriel looked at the map closely. Katt looked around. There was about four guards stationed in front of the door. An alarm went off and the guards looked at each other.
"Uh oh..." Charles mumbled, looking around and opened a small janitor closet. "In here!" he whispered and slid in, crawling under sink. Toriel and Bill back into and Katt pressed in, closing the door. Toriel winced as Katt pressed against her side. Katt listened carefully. She heard the Shepherds ran past the door. The pink cat listened for a few more seconds and opened the door. Looking around with caution, they quickly ran to the door. Charles quickly slid his cold, wet feet in his shoes.

They arrive at the safehouse, opening the door. Bill quickly went to the couch, setting Toriel onto it and ran over to get the First Aid. Charles went to his mother's side and kneel down beside her. "Mom... How bad is it?" He whimpered softly. Toriel smiled softly, stroking his cheek.
"I'm fine don't worry. It hurts just a little" She said softly, she was tired. Her side throbbed with pain, but she didn't show it. Charles laid his head beside her on the couch. Bill came back and placed an ice pack on her side and made her hold the ice pack still. The black and white sheepdog; Vegas came up to them.
"We got a pickup outside waiting. The cabin in Athen Forest is waiting for you guys." He told them. Bill stood up.
"Thanks. But we'll let Toriel rest for a bit." Charles dropped the pipe on the ground and went to the bathroom. Washing the orange rust and red ink off his hands. They were stained with a reddish yellow. He walked out and sat on a beanbag and fell asleep almost instantly.

"Charlie... Oh Charlie... Wake up little one" A soft voice murmured. Charles sat up and rubbed his eyes. He was in a red pickup with Bill and Toriel. "We're almost there" Toriel said softly, looking back to the road. Bill drove, he looked content. Toriel sang along with radio. Giggling when she messed up. Charles looked outside, watching the trees move past the red pickup. There he saw the old log cabin. Smiling happily. There was patches of snow around the road and on the trees. He loved snow, it was his favorite time. Because it was so cold that those lizards couldn't walk outside. He looked ahead to the road, they drove and served away from a rather large silhouette, jerking awake.

Bill was in front of him. "Alright kiddo, time to go" He said helping Charles up. Bill went over and picked up Toriel softly. She slung her arm around his neck. Katt opened the door and helped Bill and Toriel get through the door. They walked to the red pickup, Katt opened the pickup door and helped Toriel into the front seat. Charles slid into the back seat and Bill went into the driver's seat.
"Drive safe you guys" Katt said softly, closing the door. Bill put it into drive and drove off. Charles laid against the cool window, falling asleep again.
